Anaerobic digestion (AD) of organic wastes relies on the interaction and cooperation of various microorganisms. Phages are crucial components of the microbial community in AD systems, but their diversity and interactions with the prokaryotic populations are still inadequately comprehended. In this study, 2121 viral operational taxonomic units (vOTUs) were recovered from 12 anaerobic fatty acid-fed reactors.

Primary hepatic carcinosarcoma (HCS) is an extremely rare malignant tumor with carcinomatous and sarcomatous elements. Few reported cases of HCS exist, especially with sufficient records to describe imaging and pathological features, making the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of HCS a significant challenge for physicians. Here, we report a case of HCS with spontaneous rupture as the initial symptom in a 77-year-old elderly male who was admitted with right upper abdominal pain for 8 days.

Due to its hemodynamic stability, ketamine is a commonly used anesthetic agent for sedation during small procedures in the critical care unit. We report a case of an 8-year-old girl, previously diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot who presented for operative correction of the congenital anomaly. She underwent a successful operation and recovered smoothly.

This condition presents with severe hepatic symptoms in childhood, mostly hepatomegaly, hypoglycemia in half of patients, while muscular complications may predominate in adulthood. Hepatic fibrosis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are common complications in older patients.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical outcomes after a transumbilical single-site laparoscopic-assisted Soave operation (TSLSO) for Hirschsprung disease (HD) in children, with a 10-year follow‑up results assessment.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 165 children with HD from January 2013 to January 2023. The operation method was a TSLSO.
