A prospective study evaluated the complications in 154 patients in whom a permanent peritoneal dialysis catheter was inserted percutaneously from April 1982 to June 1986. Obstruction to flow and fluid leakage occurred in 9.2 and 2.6% of the catheters, respectively. Catheter survival was 64.6 and 48.6% at 1- and 2-year follow-up, respectively. The complication rates and survival of percutaneously placed catheters was comparable to those reported for surgically placed catheters. Percutaneous insertion of Tenckhoff catheters is a viable alternative to using the surgical technique.

Objective: This study aimed to assess postoperative intracranial pressure in patients with clinical and/or radiological features of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) undergoing endoscopic endonasal surgery for primary cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak repair.
Methods: Data was prospectively collected from 9 patients diagnosed with CSF nasal leaks who underwent corrective endonasal surgery between January 1, 2021, and October 31, 2022. Postoperative intracranial pressure was measured via lumbar puncture at least one month after surgery.

Peripheral nerve injuries are extremely severe and may lead to permanent disability, despite the regenerative capacity of the peripheral nervous system (PNS). To date, there is no established pharmacological therapy capable of predicting functional recovery and alleviation of trauma-related symptoms such as neuropathic pain, inflammation and weakness, which are the main targets for current therapies. Background: Technique survival, also reported with negative connotations as technique failure or transfer from peritoneal dialysis to haemodialysis, has been identified by patients, caregivers and health professionals as a critically important outcome to be reported in all trials. However, there is wide variation in how peritoneal dialysis technique survival is defined, measured and reported, leading to difficulty in comparing or consolidating results.
Methods: We conducted an online international consensus workshop to establish a core outcome measure of technique survival.
