Background: Left ventricular obstruction (LVO) is an infrequent complication following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) that can lead to severe hemodynamic decompensation. Previous studies have analyzed the pathophysiology of this clinical entity; however, little is known about the anatomical characteristics as assessed by computational tomography (CT) of patients at risk.

Methods: Data from 349 patients were retrospectively analyzed from a single center registry of patients undergoing TAVR at San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy, between January 2020 and December 2021.

Rationale And Objectives: Mixed ground-glass nodules (mGGNs) are highly malignant and common nonspecific lung imaging findings. This study aimed to explore whether combining quantitative and qualitative spectral dual-layer detector-based computed tomography (SDCT)-derived parameters with serological tumor abnormal proteins (TAPs) and thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) expression enhances invasive mGGN diagnostic efficacy and to develop a joint diagnostic model.

Materials And Methods: This prospective study included patients with mGGNs undergoing preoperative triple-phase contrast-enhanced SDCT with TAP and TK1 tests.

Objectives: Computed tomography (CT) imaging of a sublobar resection specimen may inform intraoperative surgical margin assessment. However, consistency with final pathological margins has not been previously evaluated. In this study, we investigated the concordance between surgical margin measurements by CT versus pathology measurements using an ex vivo sublobar lung resection model.

Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty Implant Design and Configuration has a Significant Effect on Conjoint Tendon Impingement.

J Shoulder Elbow Surg

December 2024

Roth | McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, St Joseph's Health Care, London, Canada; Department of Surgery, Western University, London, Canada. Electronic address:

Background: Anterior shoulder pain after reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) is not uncommon and may be due to humeral impingement against the conjoint tendon during internal rotation (IR). It is unknown what effect different implant designs and configurations have on conjoint tendon impingement. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of several RSA implant design parameters on conjoint tendon impingement during IR.
