Graphene stratiform membrane materials have been recently applied to heavy metal removal in aqueous systems via adsorption due to their high mechanical strength, chemical stability, and other properties. We applied reduced graphene oxide (rGO) alone as an adsorbent to remove heavy metal ions from wastewater. Self-supported rGO membrane was prepared using a green reduction method with sodium hydrosulfite. We used the Raman spectra to observe the structure of the rGO membrane. The morphology of the self-supported membrane was measured by a scanning electron microscope. The Cu adsorption performance was measured in terms of pH, reaction time, metal ion concentration, and temperature. The maximum Cu adsorption capacity of the rGO membrane was found to be 149.25 mg/g. The adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and adsorption isotherms were simulated by the Freundlich model.

Neurodegenerative diseases, characterized by the progressive deterioration of neuronal function and structure, pose significant global public health and economic challenges. Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), a key regulator of neuroplasticity and neuronal survival, has emerged as a critical biomarker for various neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) assays, face limitations in terms of sensitivity, stability, reproducibility, and cost-effectiveness.

The clogging of sieving pores due to the complex sewage system of mixed molecules and nanoparticles of different scales is a difficulty in the membrane-based separation process. When the holes are reduced to the point where they can repel small molecules in the contaminants, large-molecule contaminants can adsorb to the holes and decrease the permeability. A similar question remains in new promising graphene oxide (GO) membranes.

The development of new graphene-based materials necessitates the application of suitable material imaging techniques, especially for the identification of defects in the graphene structure and its continuity. For this purpose, it is natural to use one of the main properties of graphene-electrical conductivity. In this work, we prepare a 9 cm large-area monolayer graphene membrane on porous scaffolding sealed with either GO or rGO.

This work focuses on the incorporation of 2D carbon nanomaterials, such as graphene oxide (GO), reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), into polypropylene (PP) via melt mixing. The addition of these 2D carbon nanostructured networks offers a novel approach to enhancing/controlling the water vapor permeable capabilities of PP composite membranes, widely used in industrial applications, such as technical (building roof membranes) or medical (surgical gowns) textiles. The study investigates how the dispersion and concentration of these graphene nanomaterials within the PP matrix influence the microstructure and water vapor permeability (WVP) performance.

High throughput intracellular delivery of biological macromolecules is crucial for cell engineering, gene expression, therapeutics, diagnostics, and clinical studies; however, most existing techniques are either contact-based or have throughput limitations. Herein, we report a light-activated, contactless, high throughput photoporation method for highly efficient and viable cell transfection of more than a million cells within a minute. We fabricated reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanoflakes that was mixed with a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) nanocomposite thin sheet with an area of 3 cm and a thickness of ∼600 μm.
