Background: We have previously shown that SHP2 downregulation may predispose fibroblasts to differentiate into myofibroblasts and proposed a role for SHP2 downregulation in the pathogenesis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). Recent data have shown that SHP2 localizes to the mitochondrial intercristae, and its overexpression enhances mitochondrial metabolism leading to oxidative stress and senescence.
Objective: To determine the effect of SHP2 on fibrotic responses.

Purpose: To assess CT features of pulmonary fibrosis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to assess the presence of several distinctive patterns of fibrosis associated with connective tissue disease.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional retrospective analysis was performed. An institutional clinical database was queried for the years of 2005-2015 to identify CT examination reports of patients with SLE and fibrotic lung disease, which yielded 50 patients (median age, 49 years; age range, 22-71 years; 46 women).

A 21-year-old man who had a history of pneumonia twice presented with chest discomfort. Computed tomography( CT) revealed dilatation of the atretic bronchus that was not continuous with the proximal one, and surrounding hyper-lucent lung fields in the outer and mediastinal sides of the right basal segment, and the absence of B10b+c. CT also demonstrated the presence of A10b+c in the former field and the aberrant artery from the inferior phrenic artery in the latter.
