A sensing platform is presented for the determination of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity based on the cooperation of DNAzyme-Au spherical nucleic acid nanoprobe with the graphene-oxide-loaded hybridization chain reaction (HCR/GO) system to achieve good detection sensitivity and specificity. This assay takes advantage of the strong affinity of pyrophosphate (PPi) to Cu ions and the fact that ALP can hydrolyze pyrophosphate (PPi) to release free Cu ions. In the presence of ALP, the released Cu can promote the Cu-dependent DNAzyme to cleave the substrate that generates a shorter DNA fragment, which is responsible for further triggering the HCR/GO system to form a long fluorescence dsDNA and thereby giving an amplified fluorescence signal. Linear calibration range was obtained from 0.2 to 10 U L, and the limit of detection (LOD) is about 0.14 U L. The feasibility of the proposed method was validated by spiking ALP standards in bovine serum. The recovery ranged from 97.2 to 104.6%, and a coefficient of variation (CV) of less than 8% (n = 3) was obtained. This assay strategy was also applied to evaluate the ALP inhibitor efficiency, which indicates that the assay has potential for drug screening.

Carbamazepine (CBZ), an anticonvulsant drug, is one of the most recalcitrant pharmaceuticals detected in wastewater. For the photocatalytic degradation of CBZ, visible light assisted heterogeneous Fenton-like hybrid composites were synthesized via a co-precipitation method by anchoring magnetite (FeO) with reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The rGO loading not only reduced the aggregation of FeO nanoparticles, but also increased the adsorption capacity of the hybrid composites.

Hybrid nanomaterials with synergistic effect are highly potential for developing advanced nanozymes. Herein, we designed a nanozyme assembled by polyethylenimine (PEI)-protected reduced graphene oxide anchoring iron oxide (PRGI) and Pt nanoparticle using electrostatic interaction, PRGI/Pt nanohybrid. The different ratio of PRGI nanocomposite and Pt nanoparticle could control PRGI/Pt nanohybrid's surface charge and stability, which determined PRGI/Pt nanohybrid's catalytic activity.

Two different DNA (ERBB2c and CD24c) modified gold nanoparticles and graphene oxide loaded on glassy carbon electrodes were prepared for early detection of breast cancer markers by electrochemical detection of HER2. Comparative study of ERBB2c and CD24c for the detection was carried out. A "sandwich-type" detection strategy was employed in this electrochemical DNA biosensor and its response was measured by amperometric detection.

In this study, magnetic graphene oxide-loaded Ce-doped titania (MGO-Ce-TiO2) hybridized composite was prepared by a facile method. The as-prepared samples exhibited good adsorption capacity, high visible-light photoactive and magnetic separability as a novel photocatalyst in the degradation of tetracyclines (TC). The intermediate products and photocatalytic route of TC were proposed based on the analysis results of LC-MS.
