Laser (light amplification by the stimulated emission of radiation) skin resurfacing is currently one of the most widely adopted technologies in facial rejuvenation. While most often used for aesthetic purposes, lasers also have applications in the management of scars. Since the introduction of the CO laser for skin rejuvenation in the 1990s, the last three decades have seen significant growth in the number of laser devices available to the physician. More recently, promising alternatives to light-based resurfacing technologies have emerged that include radiofrequency and intense focused ultrasound. To help the physician navigate the most current laser technologies as they apply to periocular scars, this review discusses the available treatment modalities, pre-treatment assessment of periorbital scars, treatment selection, and reported outcomes and complications. The recommendations described herein are based on published literature and the authors' experience in an academic oculoplastics practice.

Dorsal closure is a process that occurs during embryogenesis of . During dorsal closure, the amnioserosa (AS), a one-cell thick epithelial tissue that fills the dorsal opening, shrinks as the lateral epidermis sheets converge and eventually merge. During this process, both shape index and aspect ratio of amnioserosa cells increase markedly.

In recent years, the transfer of more than one embryo has become less frequent to diminish multiple pregnancies. Even so, there is still a risk of one embryo splitting into two or even three. This report presents the case of a triamniotic monochorionic gestation in a 35-year-old woman, obtained after the transfer of a single day 5 embryo that had been previously hatched with a laser and subsequently transferred in a fresh IVF cycle.

Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is a rare and aggressive subtype of complex lymphatic anomalies (CLA), characterized by abnormal lymphatic proliferation leading to distinct clinical manifestations. Despite the complexity of this condition, there is no established standard therapy, and treatment options such as sclerotherapy, laser therapy, and surgery remain variably effective and are limited to symptom management rather than curative. Sirolimus, an mTOR pathway inhibitor, has shown promise as a primary therapy, particularly in patients without a driver mutation.

Micro/nanoscale 3D bioelectrodes gain increasing interest for electrophysiological recording of electroactive cells. Although 3D printing has shown promise to flexibly fabricate 3D bioelectronics compared with conventional microfabrication, relatively-low resolution limits the printed bioelectrode for high-quality signal monitoring. Here, a novel multi-material electrohydrodynamic printing (EHDP) strategy is proposed to fabricate bioelectronics with sub-microscale 3D gold pillars for in vitro electrophysiological recordings.

Perovskite oxides have a wide variety of physical properties that make them promising candidates for versatile technological applications including nonvolatile memory and logic devices. Chemical tuning of those properties has been achieved, to the greatest extent, by cation-site substitution, while anion substitution is much less explored due to the difficulty in synthesizing high-quality, mixed-anion compounds. Here, nitrogen-incorporated BaTiO thin films have been synthesized by reactive pulsed-laser deposition in a nitrogen growth atmosphere.
