Purpose: The prognostic value of a new scoring system, termed F-NLR, that combines pretreatment fibrinogen level with neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio has been evaluated in various cancers. However, the results are controversial. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively analyze the prognostic value of F-NLR score in patients with cancers.

Methods: An integrated search of relevant studies was conducted by screening the PubMed and Embase databases. Pooled hazard ratios, with 95% confidence intervals (CIs), for overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS)/progression-free survival (PFS) were calculated to estimate the prognostic significance of F-NLR score in patients with various tumors. A random effects model was used for comprehensive analysis, and subgroup and meta-regression analyses were used to explore sources of heterogeneity.

Results: Thirteen articles reporting data from of 4747 patients were included in the study. Pooled analysis revealed that high F-NLR score was significantly associated with poor OS (HR = 1.77; 95% CI, 1.51-2.08) and poor DFS/PFS (HR = 1.63; 95% CI, 1.30-2.05). Subgroup and meta-regression analyses did not alter the prognostic role of F-NLR score in OS and DFS/PFS.

Conclusions: Increased F-NLR score is significantly associated with poor prognosis in patients with cancers and can serve as an effective prognostic indicator.

Inflammation and coagulation cascades are closely correlated with cancer occurrence and progression. This study investigated the prognostic value of the combination of plasma fibrinogen level and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (F-NLR) in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). The predictive ability of the F-NLR for overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), and progression-free survival (PFS) was initially established and then further validated in patients who underwent radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) for UTUC.

Background: Recent research indicates that systemic inflammation significantly affects the overall prognosis of individuals with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. To delve deeper into this issue, a retrospective study was undertaken. The study aimed to investigate the relationship between fibrinogen and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio scores, D-dimer/Albumin ratios, and the Glasgow Outcome Scale at 6 months post-discharge for patients with aSAH.

The prognostic indexes based on the combination of preoperative fibrinogen and systemic inflammatory indexes may have greater predictive value in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). It was found that the predictive ability of F-NLR was more valuable than other systemic inflammatory indexes. The preoperative F-NLR score was closely related to the TNM stage, and could be used as an important independent prognostic index for patients with ESCC.

This study was conducted to investigate the prognostic significance of a combination of fibrinogen and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) named the F-NLR score as a novel indicator and further create nomograms for predicting the prognosis of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) treated with laparoscopic nephrectomy. A total of 425 patients with RCC who underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy were included in this study. Then, we divided the patients based on the cut-off values of their F-NLR score into three categories: F-NLR 2 (both high fibrinogen and NLR), F-NLR 0 (both low fibrinogen and NLR), and F-NLR 1 (remaining patients).

Objective: To explore the relationship between fibrinogen and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (F-NLR) score and functional outcomes after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH).

Method: A retrospective study was conducted that involved all consecutive patients with aSAH admitted to our institution from March 2018 to October 2021. Factors, such as demographics, comorbidities, clinical characteristics, neuroradiological data, and laboratory parameters, were collected from institutional databases.
