Family rules, routines, and resources shape children's creativity. However, little is known about how parents' creative self-concepts and creative activity are related to the lifestyle adults create in their families. Family lifestyle might be operationalized as referring to domain-general dimensions of family social functioning (cohesion, flexibility, communication, and family satisfaction) and domain-specific factors related to creativity, namely, family climate for creativity (encouragement to experience novelty and varieties, encouragement to nonconformism, support of perseverance in creative efforts, encouragement to fantasize). To explore the link between parents' creativity-related characteristics and family lifestyle, 303 Polish parents (57% mothers) of children aged between 6 and 10 ( = 7.99; = 1.38) reported on their creative self-concept (creative self-efficacy and creative personal identity), creative activity, overall family lifestyle, and climate for creativity in their families. We found that parents' creative self-concept and their creative activity predict support for creativity in the family and more general balanced and satisfying family relationships. We discuss these findings, point new paths for future research, and suggest possible interventions to strengthen families as creativity-fostering environments.

In recent years, the emergence of artificial intelligence painting tools has significantly changed the creative activities and future development of designers, but studies specifically addressing designers' inclinations to transition to AI painting tools are scarce. Therefore, to understand designers' switching intentions toward AI painting tools, this study proposed a research model based on the push-pull-mooring framework. Data were collected from 320 Chinese designers and analyzed using structural equation modeling.

ResViT FusionNet Model: An explainable AI-driven approach for automated grading of diabetic retinopathy in retinal images.

Background And Objective: Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is a serious diabetes complication that can cause blindness if not diagnosed in its early stages. Manual diagnosis by ophthalmologists is labor-intensive and time-consuming, particularly in overburdened healthcare systems. This highlights the need for automated, accurate, and personalized machine learning approaches for early DR detection and treatment.

The exploration of phosphorus-nitrogen heterocycles derived from chelating N-donor ligands is an area of research that has lagged behind the development of similar heterocycles based on other main group elements, most notably boron. The fact that phosphorus and nitrogen are both group 15 elements and that their compounds are most commonly viewed as Lewis bases likely contributes to this observation. However, through judicious ligand design and creative use of phosphorus sources that render phosphorus as Lewis acidic and/or electron poor, a variety of heterocyclic architectures are possible.

A deoxyfluoroalkylation-aromatization strategy to access fluoroalkyl arenes.

Chem Commun (Camb)

Fluoroalkyl arenes (Ar-R) are valuable substructures present in several FDA-approved drugs, patents, agrochemicals, and materials, and complementary strategies that enable access to a broad spectrum of Ar-R compounds benefit these applied fields. Herein, we report a deoxyfluoroalkylation-aromatization strategy to convert cyclohexanones into broad-spectrum Ar-R containing compounds. Generally, the fluoroalkyl sources were activated to participate in a 1,2-addition reaction followed by aromatization in a sequence that contrasts more common preparations of these Ar-R compounds, such as (i) transition-metal catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of aryl electrophiles and nucleophiles, and (ii) radical fluoroalkylation reactions of C-H bonds of arenes.

Although creative ideas often emerge during distraction activities unrelated to the creative task, empirical research has yet to reveal the underlying neurocognitive mechanism. Using an incubation paradigm, we temporarily disengaged participants from the initial creative ideation task and required them to conduct two different distraction activities (moderately-demanding: 1-back working memory task, non-demanding: 0-back choice reaction time task), then returned them to the previous creative task. On the process of creative ideation, we calculated the representational dissimilarities between the two creative ideation phases before and after incubation period to estimate the neural representational change underlying successful incubation.
