The paper concerns a new forecast model that includes the class of undiagnosed infected people, and has a multiregion extension, to cope with the in-time and in-space heterogeneity of an epidemic. The model is applied to the SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) pandemic that, starting from the end of February 2020, began spreading along the Italian peninsula, by first attacking small communities in north regions, and then extending to the center and south of Italy, including the two main islands. It has proved to be a robust and reliable tool for the forecast of the total and active cases, which can be also used to simulate different scenarios. In particular, the model is able to address a number of issues, such as assessing the adoption of the in Italy, started from March 11, 2020; the estimate of the actual attack rate; and how to employ a rapid screening test campaign for containing the epidemic.

As the adequacy of determining hemispheric language lateralization (HLL) is of special importance for the planning of epilepsy surgery, this study aimed to identify predictive factors for receiving inconclusive HLL results using functional transcranial Doppler sonography (fTCD). Data from 495 epilepsy patients who received fTCD in a standardized fashion was analyzed retrospectively. HLL was left-sided in 324 patients (65.

Promoting good health and ensuring responsible production and consumption are essential components of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by of the United Nations, as well as the goals of beautiful China. While the health impacts of air pollution have garnered significant attention, there remains a paucity of studies comparing the disparities in responsibility arising from production versus consumption. This paper integrates the Weather Research and Forecasting - Comprehensive Air Quality Model with Extensions (WRF-CAMx) model, the multiregional input‒output (MRIO) model, and the global exposure mortality model (GEMM) to assess the extent of PM-related premature deaths caused by production and consumption activities in 30 Chinese provinces.

Localized prostate cancer is frequently composed of multiple spatially distinct tumors with significant inter- and intra-tumoral molecular heterogeneity. This genomic diversity gives rise to many competing clones that may drive the biological trajectory of the disease. Previous large-scale sequencing efforts have focused on the evolutionary process in metastatic prostate cancer, revealing a potential clonal progression to castration resistance.
