Aim: This study aimed to develop and validate a Japanese version of the Public Attitudes Toward Epilepsy (PATE-J) Scale to measure attitudes towards epilepsy among the general Japanese population.
Methods: The study employed a cross-sectional design using an online survey of 537 participants from the general public in Japan, with follow-up surveys at 2 weeks and 3 months. The PATE Scale was translated following standard guidelines and validated by conducting confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) on the complete data set to assess the original two-factor structure of the PATE Scale.

Head-mounted devices (HMDs) are wearable electronic tools designed to augment the visual experience of low-vision patients who have a decrease in vision not improved by refractive correction. They do so by addressing various principles of visual enhancement, including magnification, illumination, increased field of view, and contrast sensitivity enhancement, among others. Since the introduction of the first HMD 3 decades ago, advancements in technology have made these devices more lightweight and practical for everyday use.

Incarceration represents an opportunity to engage in HIV prevention care for individuals who often experience a number of barriers accessing health services in the community. The development of evidence-based practices promoting pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV prevention (PrEP) is crucial for ending the HIV epidemic within this highly marginalized population.
