Introduction: Bronchopleural fistula represents a formidable complication after pneumonectomies. There are numerous surgical and endoscopic procedures for its treatment.
Clinical Case: We present a case where a coated self-expanding nitinol stent was used to exclude a bronchopleural fistula.
Result: significant improvement in air leakage was observed.
Conclusion: We encourage the use of a covered metal stent in selected patients.

Background: Airway stenting is a standard treatment option for tracheo-bronchial obstruction and other conditions like tracheo-esophageal fistula (TEF).
Methods: To prevent stent migration, a percutaneous fixation strategy called the "hitch-stitch" was described in 2016 as an efficient technique. We describe an extended experience of the "hitch-stitch" for silicone stents in high tracheal stenting situations and expanding indications to metal stents.

EMERGENCY AIRWAY management strategies for patients with complications due to tracheobronchial stents are of growing interest to anesthesiologists. Although tracheal stenting increasingly is used to manage tracheobronchial stenosis of both benign and malignant conditions, official guidelines for the perioperative airway management of patients with tracheobronchial stents in situ are lacking. Here, the authors discuss the management of airway obstruction from a tracheal stent strut protrusion and in-stent stenosis in a patient with a self-expanding nitinol tracheal stent in situ.

The purpose of this study is to describe the experience with self-expanding metal airway stents in 2 tertiary referral centres, covering a third of the population of Finland.
Methods: Patients referred to and treated with airway stenting for malignant CAO using self-expanding metal-stents were identified from electronic patient records, and data were collected using a structured Endoscopic Lower Airway Management instrument.

Background: Tracheobronchial stent placement for malignant airway strictures has been proved to improve respiratory function, but experience for benign tracheobronchial stenoses is limited. The purpose of our study is to investigate the efficacy of covered expandable metallic stents, inserted through a suspension laryngoscope, treating tracheal stenosis following intubation or tracheostomy.
Methods: From 2010 to 2018, 67 adult patients with the benign tracheal stenosis, underwent stent placement, using a suspension laryngoscope.
