To understand the status and dynamics of macrozoobenthos community in Sanmen Bay, we collected benthos samples by Agassiz trawl in November 2015, and February, May and August in 2016. The results showed that: 1) A total of 119 macrozoobenthos species were recorded, with main groups of fishes, crustaceans and molluscs, accounting for 79% of the total number of species. 2) The dominant species of macrozoobenthos throughout the year were , and . The identity of dominant species changed significantly in different seasons. 3) The annual average biomass and density were 0.025 g·m and 0.07 ind·m, respectively. 4) The Shannon's diversity index of macrozoobenthos in Sanmen Bay varied from 2.21 to 3.18, the Margalef's species richness index varied from 3.25 to 3.78, and the Pielou's evenness index varied from 0.53 to 0.79. Results from abundance-biomass curve analysis showed that the community was moderately disturbed in spring and winter, and slightly disturbed in summer and autumn. Results from Canonical correspondence analysis showed that water depth, temperature, salinity, and pH were the most important environmental factors affecting macrozoobenthos community.

The limited availability of historical data has resulted in the ongoing debate regarding the short-term effects of thermal discharge from nuclear power plants (NPPs) on microbial communities, including both prokaryotes and microeukaryotes. This study focused on the co-occurrence patterns, assembly processes, and community functions in the eutrophic coastal waters of Sanmen Bay (SMB) before and after NPP operation. Gammaproteobacteria and Alphaproteobacteria were the dominant prokaryotic taxa, while Dinoflagellates consistently maintained their prevalence in SMB.

Coastal oceans, serving as transitional zones between land and sea, possess unique geographical features and complex hydrological conditions, functioning as regional reservoirs and crucial transport pathways for anthropogenic pollutants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) to the open ocean. This study comprehensively investigates traditional perfluoroalkyl carboxylic and sulphonic acids (PFCAs and PFSAs) and emerging perfluoroalkyl ether carboxylic and sulfonic acids (PFECAs and PFESAs), fluorotelomer sulfonates (FTSAs) in seawater columns and surface sediments from the inner shelf of the East China Sea, by integrating hydrological and biogeochemical data. Comparable levels of traditional and emerging PFASs were observed in seawater samples, in contrast to higher concentrations of traditional PFASs in surface sediments.

Non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS) is one of the top causes of diarrhea worldwide. Ceftriaxone is commonly recommended as the initial treatment option for Salmonella infections due to its antibacterial effectiveness. The objective of this study was to investigate the molecular epidemiological characteristics of NTS and to compare the phenotypic and genotypic profiles of antimicrobial resistance in multidrug-resistant Salmonella strains by sequencing 329 NTS strains collected from a county-level hospital between 2018 and 2021.
