Brain iron deposition is correlated with minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE). This study aimed to investigate the pattern of altered iron distribution, using quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM), and to clarify the relationship between iron deposition and neurocognitive changes in MHE. We enrolled 32 cirrhotic patients without MHE (NHE), 21 cirrhotic patients with MHE, and 24 healthy controls, and used the Psychometric Hepatic Encephalopathy Score (PHES) to assess neurocognitive function.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the changes in brain diffusion in patients with heart failure (HF) by measuring the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and to investigate the relationship between these changes and cardiac injury features.
Methods: The study included 49 patients with HF and 39 healthy controls. Cognitive performance was assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA).

Objective: Brain areas activated during pain can contribute to enhancing or reducing the pain experience, showing a potential connection between chronic pain and the neural response to pain in adolescents and youth.
Methods: This study examined changes in brain activation associated with experiencing physical pain and observing physical and emotional pain in others by using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) before and after intensive interdisciplinary pain treatment (IIPT). Eighteen youths (age 14 to 18) with widespread chronic pain completed fMRI testing before and after IIPT to assess changes in brain activation in response to physical and emotional pain.
