There has been a sharp disimprovement in the bovine tuberculosis (bTB) situation in Ireland in recent years. This commentary argues for critical programme change in three overarching themes relevant to the Irish bTB eradication programme, if eradication is to be successful: (1) Limiting infection in cattle. Animal law has the potential to initiate improvements for animal wellbeing. However, this largely depends on how effectively the law bridges the legal chasm between animal welfare and animal suffering, a chasm the authors refer to as the welfare gap. In elastic crystals, a hyperelastic description is conventionally assumed, and the strain energy potential is idealized as a Taylor-series expansion in strain about an unstrained reference state. Coefficients of quadratic terms are second-order or linear elastic constants. Coefficients of higher-order terms are elastic constants of third order, fourth order, and so on.

Inequalities in physical activity are well documented, especially between socioeconomic groups. However, progress on reducing these inequalities is proving challenging. In this commentary, we argue that a complex system perspective is needed, specifically to reorient our thinking of inequalities in physical activity to be emergent features of complex systems.
