Purpose: To develop a model for simulated training of ureteropyelic anastomosis in laparoscopicpyeloplasty.

Methods: Longitudinal and experimental study, with 16 participants. A synthetic instrument was produced to simulate the renal pelvis and the proximal portion of the ureter positioned on a platform within laparoscopic simulators, thereby resulting in the realistic simulation of the ureteropelvic anastomosis. A step-by-step guide was also developed for the accomplishment of the ureteropelvic anastomosis training model.

Results: In the evaluation of all participants' suture training, a decrease was found in the time needed to perform the anastomosis, with a median of 17.83 min in the 1st step and 14.21 min in the last one (p = 0.01). Regarding the knots, in the 1st step, 5% of them were considered firm, with an evolution to 30% in the last step (p = 0.011).

Conclusion: We noticed improvement in the ability to perform the ureteropelvic anastomosis by participants with no experience with it. Therefore, even unexperienced participants can improve their skills with this training. Moreover, we observed the effectiveness of the model use, confirmed by the participants' opinion and its validation by expert surgeons.

A case of redo pyeloplasty using robot-assisted retroperitoneoscopic pyeloplasty (RARP) for failed primary laparoscopic pyeloplasty (LP) for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) is reported. A 12-year-old boy had LP elsewhere. He was referred for management of persistent left hydronephrosis, but was managed conservatively due to minimal symptoms and stable radioisotopic renography.

Introduction: The standard approach to the treatment of short ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction is the Anderson-Hynes procedure. Despite its high efficiency and low complication rate, there are ongoing studies which study the modification of the procedure using open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches.

Aim: To describe a modified pyeloplasty technique with an assessment of the anatomical and functional results in comparison with the Anderson-Hynes procedure.

Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital; Institute of Urology, Peking University; National Urological Cancer Center, Beijing 100034, China.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of robot-assisted laparoscopic buccal mucosa graft ureteroplasty in the treatment of complex long proximal ureteral stricture.

Methods: The clinical data of 20 patients with proximal ureteral stricture undergoing robot-assisted laparoscopic buccal mucosa graft ureteroplasty admitted to the Department of Urology, Peking University First Hospital and Beijing Jiangong Hospital from July 2022 to January 2023 were prospectively collected and analyzed. Intraoperative conditions, postoperative complications and follow-up data were also recorded and analyzed.

Purpose: This study aims to describe the surgical steps for the single-port low anterolateral extraperitoneal approach to pyeloplasty, report its feasibility, and share the initial outcomes of our experience.

Methods: We analyzed all consecutive patients who underwent single-port low anterolateral extraperitoneal pyeloplasty due to ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO). The surgical steps included a pure single-port approach through a 3.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of robot-assisted single-port-plus-one pyeloplasty (RSPY) and laparoscopic single-port pyeloplasty (LSPY) in the treatment of children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO).

Methods: The clinical data of 47 children who underwent surgery for UPJO at the Department of the Pediatric Surgery of the Fujian Provincial Hospital from October 2020 to September 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. Of these 47 children, 27 received RSPY while 20 underwent LSPY.
