Background: Fungal spondylitis often occurs in patients with immune dysfunction, and its diagnosis and treatment pose certain challenges. However, even in immunocompromised patients, Aspergillus spondylitis remains rare. This case reports the diagnostic and therapeutic experience of fungal spondylitis in a patient with consolidated cirrhosis and no significant immune impairment.

The safety of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors has been demonstrated for over two decades. However, their effects on cardiovascular function in patients with rheumatic diseases remain controversial, and conclusions are additionally hampered by the cardiovascular complications inherent in such diseases. We present two 15-year-old patients diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis classified as polyarthritis with positive rheumatoid factor, respectively.

Cervical tuberculous spondylitis is a rare and potentially life-threatening manifestation of spinal tuberculosis, accounting for only 3%-5% of all cases of spinal tuberculosis This report describes a case of a 17-year-old male patient who developed tetraparesis 2 weeks prior to hospital admission, after a 6-month record of progressive neck pain. Magnetic Resonance Imaging revealed tuberculous spondylodiscitis involving multiple vertebrae, with a severe spinal cord compression at C2-C3 due to an intraosseous abscess and paravertebral soft tissue mass. The patient underwent anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion at C3 with autologous iliac bone graft and anterior stabilization.
