The photothermal agents have been widely developed due to the minimally invasive treatment for targeted tumor photothermal therapy, which is considered to have great potential for antitumor bioapplications. The development of multifunctional photothermal agents is extremely challenging. This work presents a novel photothermal theragnosis agent, i.e., CuGeO nanoparticles (CGO NPs), showing intense absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) window and excellent ability of CT imaging. Due to the strong NIR absorption, CGO NPs exhibit excellent photothermal effect with a photothermal conversion efficiency of 59.4%. Moreover, because of the high X-ray attenuation coefficient of germanium, the CGO NPs have a great potential of CT imaging diagnosis in clinical application. Additionally, the CGO NPs show negligible cytotoxicity and , indicating that it can be served as an outstanding contrast and anticancer agent in a biosafe way. Our work opens the way for the development of bimetallic copper-based oxides used in photothermal diagnostic agents for cancer treatment.

Purpose: Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) is one of the critical components of the tumor microenvironment that is involved in tumor development. HIF-1α functionally and physically interacts with CDK1, 2, and 5 and stimulates the cell cycle progression and Cyclin-Dependent Kinase (CDK) expression. Therefore, hypoxic tumor microenvironment and CDK overexpression lead to increased cell cycle progression and tumor expansion.

A novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor, coupled with the magnetic bioseparation technique, was constructed and used to the determination of human IgG. Carboxyl-functionalized graphene oxide (cGO) sheet was employed as the sensing film for the efficient immobilization of capture antibody (Ab1). Nanoconjugates (FHAb2), obtained by binding detection antibody (Ab2) to the nanohybrids containing Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs) and hollow gold sphere nanoparticles (HGNPs), were used to specifically collect the target analytes from sample solutions and serve as labels.
