Background: Few studies have evaluated the causes of physical inactivity in rural teachers from South America. Determining the causes and effects of physical inactivity in rural teachers could be the base for future intervention studies aiming to improve physical activity (PA) engagement in this population.
Objectives: To examine the levels of PA in rural teachers and evaluate the associations between their jobs, interest in PA, body composition and practice of PA.
Methods: Body mass index (BMI) and body fat % (BF) of rural teachers from the Valparaiso Region in Chile were measured; interviews regarding PA habits, interests and PA practice were conducted. The relationship between BF% and interest in PA and the practice of sports was analysed stratifying by sex.
Results: Around 71% were overweight/obese and 80% of the teachers reported not practicing any PA. These figures are higher than the Chilean national average for adults (64.5% overweight/obese). Moreover, females presented a higher BF% than male teachers (35.98% vs. 26.44%, p < 0.05). The main causes of not performing PA were: firstly, the lack of time (51.8%), and secondly, fatigue after work and/or finishing work late. In addition, rural teachers claim that in their free time they continue to finish tasks that they were not able to complete during their working hours.
Conclusions: Rural Chilean teachers show a high prevalence of obesity and low PA levels. Moreover, rural teachers have a work overload stemming from their jobs, and this could be an important link to an overall sedentary lifestyle. Further studies should focus on the relationship between teacher obesity, physical activity, nutrition and work overload.

A second aim tested whether early care and education (ECE) quality mediated such relations. Aim: This paper aims to investigate the relationship between social support and rural teachers' work engagement while exploring the mediating effect of mindfulness in teaching and the moderating effect of psychological safety.
Methods: A sample of 866 rural teachers was recruited, in order to complete the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, Psychological Safety Scale, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.
Results: The study findings indicate that: (1) social support positively influenced the work engagement of rural teachers; (2) further, mindfulness in teaching partially mediated the effect of social support on rural teachers' work engagement; (3) psychological safety moderated the second half of the pathway of "social support → mindfulness in teaching → work engagement" while the positive correlation between mindfulness in teaching and work engagement was stronger among rural teachers with high psychological safety.

Objective: To investigate the health education needs and available resources in schistosomiasis-endemic areas based on integration of community resources, and to explore the operation pathways for health education and promotion during the stage of schistosomiasis elimination.
Methods: A community was selected from Nanji Township, Xinjian District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province around the Poyang Lake areas as the study site, and a questionnaire survey on health education needs for schistosomiasis control was conducted among permanent residents at ages of 20 years in the community during the period between June and July, 2022 using face-to-face interviews. In addition, the resources available for the community-based schistosomiasis control health education were investigated among workers in township-level specialized institutions, members of civil society organizations, villagers, teachers and high and primary school students through field observations, field surveys and thematic interviews.
