Large-scale estimation of forest biomass has received much attention. Constructing a stand-level biomass model is a method for estimating tree layer biomass. In this study, we constructed stand biomass models of Korean pine plantations based on aggregation method 1, aggregation method 2, adjustment method, and disaggregation method. The prediction precision of four additive methods was compared and analyzed to provide theoretical basis for biomass prediction of Korean pine plantations in Heilongjiang Province. Weighted functions were used to eliminate the heteroscedasticity of each model, with the leave-one-out cross validation (LOOCV) as the validation method. The results showed that the overall prediction ability of the adjustment method was slightly better than other methods. The specific prediction precision was ranked as adjustment method > aggregation method 1 > aggregation method 2 > disaggregation method. The prediction precision of four additive methods was not consistent when considering their prediction ability of different stand basal areas. When the stand basal area of Korean pine plantations was distributed in the interval of 0-10 or 50-60 m·hm, the parameter estimation values of disaggregation method performed better. When the stand basal area was distributed in other intervals, the parameter estimation values of adjustment method was better.

Purpose: To present 4 family members with posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy (PPCD), nonkeratoconic steep corneas, and myopia caused by a previously unknown genetic alteration in the ZEB1 gene.
Methods: Ophthalmic examinations and corneal curvature analyses were performed for all patients. Whole-exome targeted gene panel sequencing was performed for 1 patient.

With the growing demand for nickel in the stainless steel and battery industries, conventional methods of extracting nickel from ores face challenges such as high production costs and environmental concerns. This study proposes a new process for the recovery of nickel metal and the production of nickel-iron alloys from nickel-bearing scrap. The reduction rates of nickel and iron oxides were investigated by optimizing the roasting temperature, time, and C/O ratio, and the process was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM).

Background: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is widely used for managing brain metastases (BMs), but an adverse effect, radionecrosis, complicates post-SRS management. Differentiating radionecrosis from tumor recurrence non-invasively remains a major clinical challenge, as conventional imaging techniques often necessitate surgical biopsy for accurate diagnosis. Machine learning and deep learning models have shown potential in distinguishing radionecrosis from tumor recurrence.

Introduction: Single-stage bilateral cleft lip repair may require preoperative naso-alveolar molding (NAM) to decrease cleft widths and reposition the premaxilla. Staged operations may be performed in centers or regions without easy access to NAM. This retrospective study aims to examine the national prevalence of single-stage and staged bilateral cleft lip repairs over the past 23 years.

Background: The reliability of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in patients with initially node-positive breast cancer is still controversial. This meta-analysis is conducted to investigate the feasibility and accuracy of SLNB after NACT in patients with initially positive axillary nodes.
Methods: We conducted a literature search using Medline, PubMed, Embase, Central, and SCOPUS up until April 2021 for studies on the performance of SLNB following NACT.
