New Nucleosides, analogues derived from 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole, arylidene analogues and α-aminophosphonate were prepared. Infrared (IR), elemental analysis and HNMR elucidated nucleosides; arylidines and phosphonate derivatives. The prepared derivatives were purified and allowed to test against bacteria strains. Phosphonate derivative showed the higher antibacterial against with inhibition zone 35 mm, P. aeruginosa with inhibition zone 30 and S. aureus with inhibition zone 22 while compounds , , , and showed moderate to weak activity against these bacteria species with inhibition zones ranged from 12 mm to 24 mm. The molecular docking studies was applied on compound , which showed the binding at the active DNA Gyrase.

In this study, brown macroalgae Hormophysta triquetra (HT) collected from the Qatari coast is used to biosynthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from its aqueous (AQ), chloroform: methanol (MCF), and ethanolic extracts (ET). The NPs are characterized using Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Gas chromatography/Mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The NPs were evaluated for their antibacterial activities by disc-diffusion method and their minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) were assessed.

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), often caused by biofilm-forming Staphylococcus aureus, present significant clinical challenges. Skt35, a dioxopiperidinamide derivative of cinnamic acid, was investigated for its potential antibacterial and antibiofilm activities against S. aureus biofilms.

Piperazine-based compounds have garnered significant attention due to their notable biological and pharmacological activities, making them essential in fine chemical and pharmaceutical applications. In this study, we managed to synthesize a novel hybrid bis-cyanoacrylamide bearing the piperazine core via phenoxymethyl linker and incorporating sulphamethoxazole moiety. The novel compound was fully characterized using different spectral data including 1H-NMR, C-NMR, and FTIR spectroscopy.

Recently, significant breakthroughs have been made in the exploration of shale gas in the Lower Cambrian black shale of the Sichuan Basin, indicating a promising commercial extraction potential. However, there remains considerable controversy regarding the pore structural characteristics for this shale formation, especially in the deep-water region. To address this, this paper focused on core samples from two shale gas wells (Xa1 and Xb1) located in the slope-basin facies zone during the Early Cambrian.

In order to address the issue of food contamination by microorganisms and effectively harness the antibacterial properties of nisin, we attempted to incorporate nisin into natural polymer films while addressing its inherent instability. An antibacterial food packaging film based on carboxymethyl chitosan (CCS) binding with L-cysteine (CYS) and oxidized konjac glucomannan (OKG) was developed through both Schiff base reaction and addition reaction of thiol aldehyde. To analyze the effect of addition reaction of thiol aldehyde on the CCS-CYS/OKG films' physicochemical properties, the CCS-CYS was prepared with different CYS combination rates, which were further used to fabricate composite films.
