In this study, we report for the first time HLA allele and haplotype frequencies in the modern Panamanian population at a two-field (four digits) resolution level. Reported frequencies were calculated from genotype data for the HLA-A, -B, -C, -DPB1, -DQB1 and -DRB1 loci of 462 healthy unrelated Panamanian adults of Hispanic ethnicity. In addition to providing new insights on the allelic structure of the Panamanian population and its origin, these data are critical for better planning of healthcare strategies in the country and for future research exploring the association with certain chronic and infectious diseases.

Background: Micronutrient deficiencies have serious lifelong consequences. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of anaemia, iron deficiency anaemia, iron deficiency, and vitamin A deficiency, according to sociodemographic factors and nutritional status among Panamanian children aged six to 59 months in 2019.
Methods: We used data from the National Health Survey of Panama (ENSPA), a population-based, cross-sectional study, with a nationally representative subsample to evaluate haemoglobin, C-reactive protein (CRP), ferritin, and retinol levels among children aged six to 59 months.

Currently, food access has worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason, various alternatives are required to improve the population's diet. Among the many alternatives is the use of 3D printing technology to reproduce food that can reach the most vulnerable population.

Nudibranch molluscs Coryphella are widely distributed and species-rich gastropod group lacking fossil record and displaying a complex distribution across both Southern and Northern hemispheres. In this paper we provide a detailed review of the morphology, ecology, and distribution of Coryphella, estimation of divergence times between species, an ancestral area reconstruction, and a population analysis of widely distributed trans-Arctic species Coryphella verrucosa to investigate the evolution, phylogeographic patterns and reconstruct possible historical routes of oceanic dispersal. The inclusion of a larger sample size and five molecular markers has revealed a complex evolutionary history of Coryphella, shaped by transgression, vicariance, and dietary shifts, and overall driven by the pervasive effect of glacial cycles.
