Sacubitril/Valsartan (S/V) is a novel and remarkably effective opportunity to treat heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). However, patients with HFrEF induced by cancer therapy were a priori excluded from the registration study. The value of S/V in this important subgroup of patients needs to be firmly established. In this issue of Cardio-Oncology, Gregorietti et al. report on the effects of S/V in a small group of cancer patients, primarily women with breast cancer treated with anthracyclines. The data are limited but seem to confirm the encouraging results of prior studies, paving the way to foster the use of S/V in cardio-oncology patients and hopefully, to design ad hoc prospective studies in this highly vulnerable population.

There is limited understanding of how mechanical signals regulate tendon development. The nucleus has emerged as a major regulator of cellular mechanosensation via the linker of nucleoskeleton and cytoskeleton (LINC) protein complex. Specific roles of LINC in tenogenesis have not been explored.

Background: Prehabilitation has shown promise in improving post-operative outcomes for several solid tumour groups. However, prehabilitation programmes are not widely established. Patients with advanced ovarian cancer experience life changing debulking surgery and could benefit from prehabilitation.

Background: The NHS has committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. Dry eye disease, a chronic condition affecting approximately 29.5% of the global population, poses a significant challenge due to its environmentally harmful care pathway, which also exacerbates the condition.

Background: Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) enable effective management of colorectal and appendiceal peritoneal metastases (CAPM) despite high morbidity. This study aimed to evaluate the role of repeat diagnostic laparoscopy (rDL) after systemic ± intraperitoneal chemotherapy in the management of initially unresectable CAPM.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 70 consecutive patients with CAPM who underwent initial diagnostic laparoscopy (iDL).

Using spatial mapping processes to discriminate between threat and safety is crucial for survival. Little is known why some fail to discriminate during contextual conditioning. We used a virtual reality (VR) contextual conditioning paradigm to elucidate the effects of state and trait anxiety on contextual threat learning.
