Published: December 2020

High-nitrogen-content compounds 6-azido-1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine (CHN) and its 3-methyl derivative (CHN) have been in situ crystallized in a diamond-anvil cell and their structures determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Under ambient and high-pressure conditions the crystallizations yield the same phases: the CHN anhydrate and CHN hydrated clathrate. In both the structures there are clearly distinguished regions of short CH...N and N...N intermolecular contacts, the latter involving exclusively the azide groups. High pressure initially increases the contents of water in the channel pores of the clathrate.

We aimed to determine the persisting effects of various exercise modalities and intensities on functional capacity after periods of training cessation in older adults. A comprehensive search was conducted across the Cochrane Library, PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science Core Collection up to March 2024 for randomized controlled trials examining residual effects of physical exercise on functional capacity in older adults ≥ 60 years. The analysis encompassed 15 studies and 21 intervention arms, involving 787 participants.

Optimization Control Method for Low-Voltage DC Microgrid with Low Carbon, Economy, and Reliability.

ACS Omega

December 2024

Guoneng Zhishen Control Technology Co., Ltd, Beijing 102211, China.

From the perspectives of economy, low carbon, and safety in DC microgrids, a multiscenario optimization control method of low-voltage DC microgrids based on the nondominant sorting arctic puffin optimization algorithm (NSAPOA) is proposed in this paper. The Wasserstein generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-GP) is used to generate typical output scenarios of photovoltaic and loads that are reduced by the K-means clustering method to deal with the uncertainty of photovoltaic and load. Based on the time of use electricity price, the operating modes of the low-voltage DC microgrid system are divided to formulate relevant energy exchange strategies.

Malignant Transformation of a Choroidal Nevus.

Cureus

December 2024

Department of Ophthalmology, Xi'an No. 3 Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University, Xi'an, CHN.

Choroidal nevus is the most common intraocular tumor, and most cases are benign and have no symptoms. However, choroidal nevus carries a low risk for transformation into melanoma, which is a highly aggressive and deadly cancer. In this case report, we present a male patient with blurred vision in his left eye for six months.

2D and 3D porous coordination networks (PCNs) as exemplified by metal-organic frameworks, MOFs, have garnered interest for their potential utility as sorbents for molecular separations and storage. The inherent modularity of PCNs has enabled the development of crystal engineering strategies for systematic fine-tuning of pore size and chemistry in families of related PCNs. The same cannot be said about one-dimensional (1D) coordination polymers, CPs, which are understudied with respect to porosity.
