In this note, we introduce excess strategic entropy-an entropy-based measure of complexity of the strategy. It measures complexity and predictability of the (mixed) strategy of a player. We show and discuss properties of this measure and its possible applications.

Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), which typically occurs in patients between the ages of 10 and 18, can be caused by a variety of reasons, and no definitive cause has been found. Early diagnosis of AIS or timely recognition of progression is crucial for the prevention of spinal deformity and the reduction of the risk of surgery or postponement. However, it remains a significant challenge.

Because the same cells cannot be tracked over time, TSS data provide key information about the time-evolution of protein abundances that could yield mechanisms that underlie signaling kinetics. We recently developed a generalized method of moments (GMM) based approach that estimates parameters of mechanistic models using TSS data.

Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is a powerful multivariate tool allowing the projection of data in low-dimensional representations. Nevertheless, datapoint distances on these low-dimensional projections are challenging to interpret. Here, we propose a computationally simple heuristic to transform a map based on standard PCA (when the variables are asymptotically Gaussian) into an entropy-based map where distances are based on mutual information (MI).

A comprehensive investigation of the entanglement characteristics is carried out on tripartite spin-1/2 systems, examining prototypical tripartite states, the thermal Heisenberg model, and the transverse field Ising model. The entanglement is computed using the Rényi relative entropy. In the traditional Rényi relative entropy, the generalization parameter α can take values only in the range [Formula: see text] due to the requirements of joint convexity of the measure.

This study proposes a novel multi-agent system designed to detect Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, addressing the increasing need for robust cybersecurity measures. The hypothesis posits that a structured multi-agent approach can enhance detection accuracy and response efficiency in DDoS attack scenarios. The methodology involves a five-stage detection model: (1) Preprocessing using a modified double sigmoid normalization technique to eliminate duplicate data; (2) Feature Extraction where raw data and improved correlation-based features, mutual information, and statistical features are identified; (3) Dimensionality Reduction conducted by a reducer agent to streamline the feature set; (4) Classification utilizing Deep Belief Networks (DBN), Bi-LSTM, and Deep Maxout models, with their weights optimally tuned using the hybrid optimization algorithm, WUJSO; and (5) Decision Making by the decision agent to ascertain the presence of attacks, followed by mitigation through modified entropy-based techniques.
