Purpose: Falls cost the NHS over £2 billion a year, with incidence increasing rapidly with age. Design of indoor walking frames remains limited, often needing to be lifted and not supporting sit-to-stand and turning manoeuvres, which can lead to falling. This study explored aspects of safety and satisfaction and potential for clinical use of a novel prototype walking frame.

Introduction: Cigarette smoking is among the largest risk factors for cognitive decline in later life. This study examines the associations between hospitality smoke-free coverage in the US and the prevalence of self-rated cognitive function decline and disparities therein.
Methods: I use the repeated cross-sectional Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance data collected between 2017 and 2022 from a sample of Americans 45 years and older and estimate logistic regression models predicting self-rated cognitive function decline by calculated smoke-free hospitality coverage in restaurants and bars.

The rapid proliferation of internet-connected devices has transformed our daily habits prompting a shift towards greater sustainability in renewable energy for indoor applications. Among the various technologies available for obtaining energy in indoor conditions, Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) stand out as the most promising due to their ability to efficiently convert ambient light into usable electricity. This study explores how the optimal matching of the UV-Vis absorption spectra of dyes commonly used in DSSCs with the emission profiles of indoor lamps allows for the enhanced efficiency of DSSC under indoor lighting.

One promising approach is the implementation of radio-over-fiber (RoF)-based distributed antenna systems (DAS), which can efficiently transmit radio frequency signals over optical fiber, especially in dense indoor environments. However, analog RoF systems face challenges, including noise, nonlinearities, and power fading caused by chromatic dispersion.

Formaldehyde is considered as a significant contaminant. This study aimed to perform comprehensive research with systematic review, health risk estimation, meta-analysis, and Monte Carlo simulation to evaluate exposure to formaldehyde at different seasons of the year in various indoor environments. A systematic literature review was initially performed.
