Objective: To identify the incidence of ovarian metastasis and the impact of ovarian preservation on oncological outcomes for early-stage adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous cervical cancer.
Methods: 281 patients with stages IA2-IB1 adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous cervical cancer who underwent radical hysterectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy (RHND) were included in the study. The incidence of ovarian metastasis was evaluated from 173 patients who underwent oophorectomy during RHND. Subgroup analysis was performed for patients less than 50 years (196 of 281 patients) who were classified into two groups, ovarian preservation and nonovarian preservation groups. 5-year recurrence-free survival (5-yr RFS) and 5-year overall survival (5-yr OS) were evaluated and compared between these groups.
Results: There was no evidence of ovarian metastasis, synchronous ovarian cancer, or ovarian recurrence during follow-up. In patients less than 50 years of age, there were no statistically significant differences in the 5-yr RFS ( = 0.363), or 5-yr OS ( = 0.974) between the ovarian preservation and nonovarian preservation groups. In Kaplan-Meier analysis, the ovarian preservation group seemed to have a slightly better OS in long-term follow-up (after 15 years); however, the difference was not statistically significant.
Conclusions: Ovarian preservation was safe in adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous cervical cancer stages IA2-B1. However, the impact of ovarian preservation on oncological outcomes needs to be further investigated.

Borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) are rare in pediatric populations and typically follow an indolent clinical course with few reported recurrences. Consequently, guidelines for pediatric BOT management are minimal. We retrospectively examined the management of 15 adolescent patients who underwent BOT resection at our institution over 14 years, with a specific focus on recurrence.

Objective: Clear cell borderline ovarian tumor is a rare subtype of borderline ovarian tumor for which the clinicopathological characteristics, management, and prognosis remain unclear. Herein, we describe the clinical features, treatment options, and prognosis of clear cell borderline ovarian tumors.
Study Design: This was a retrospective study of nine patients with pathologically confirmed clear cell borderline ovarian tumors treated at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 2006 and 2023.

Prepubertal chemotherapy induced ovarian damage poses a significant threat to female fertility, particularly following cyclophosphamide (CP) treatment. Humanin (HNG), a small molecule polypeptide encoded by mitochondrial DNA, has a variety of effects, this study aimed to investigate the protective effects of HNG and its combination with conventional Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone Agonist (GnRHa) on ovarian function in a CP-induced damage model. The 21-day-old C57BL/6J female mice were randomly assigned to six groups: Control, CP model, HNG, HNG+CP, GnRHa+CP, and HNG+GnRHa+CP.

Background And Aims: Benign ovarian neoplasms are common in the pediatric population. In young adult women, oophorectomy has been shown to negatively impact long-term ovarian endocrine function. Recently, ovarian-sparing surgery (OSS) has been proposed as it offers similar results to oophorectomy in terms of recurrence rates.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent metabolic endocrine disorder in reproductive-aged women. This study aims to investigate the self-healing ability of PCOS and its potential impact on offspring. Methods: Female C57 BL/6J mice aged 4-5 weeks were administered letrozole (1 mg/kg/d) and a high-fat diet for 21 days to establish a PCOS model, and a control group was established.
