Background And Aim: The stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) offers a more nuanced understanding of glucose metabolism by factoring in the background glycemia through the component of Hemoglobin A1c. The association of SHR with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases has been established, but the relationship between SHR and the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) remains unexplored. This study aimed to elucidate the relationship between the two among U.

Objectives: Prediabetes is disproportionately prevalent in Hispanic men in the United States. Weight management, such as through lifestyle interventions, effectively reduces diabetes risk. However, Hispanic men remain underrepresented in existing lifestyle interventions, and their preferences for engaging in preventative behaviors remain unexplored.

Introduction: The prognostic significance of red cell distribution width-SD (RDW-SD) as a promising inflammatory biomarker in individuals with non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and varying glycemic status remains unexplored.

Research Design And Methods: Patients hospitalized for DCM in Fuwai Hospital from 2006 to 2021 were retrospectively included. The primary outcome encompassed all-cause mortality and heart transplantations.

Introduction: There are a number of glycemic definitions for prediabetes; however, the heterogeneity in diabetes transition rates from prediabetes across different glycemic definitions in major US cohorts has been unexplored. We estimate the variability in risk and relative risk of adiposity based on diagnostic criteria like fasting glucose and hemoglobin A1C% (HA1C%).

Research Design And Methods: We estimated transition rate from prediabetes, as defined by fasting glucose between 100-125 and/or 110-125 mg/dL, and HA1C% between 5.
