Following exposure to a healthcare worker with an influenza-like illness, 2 preterm neonates and 6 staff members developed symptoms and tested positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This neonatal unit coronavirus disease 2019 outbreak occurred prior to the implementation of universal masking and symptom screening policies. Both neonates and all staff recovered, with no further healthcare-associated SARS-CoV-2 transmission following the implementation of effective outbreak containment measures.

Rhinocerebral mucormycosis is an acute, rapidly progressing, and life-threatening condition that predominantly affects individuals with uncontrolled diabetes and those who are immunocompromised. One critical complication of this disease is the thrombosis of orbital vessels, which can be indicative of angioinvasiveness and predict the subsequent development of cerebral infarctions. In this context, we present a case series of patients with rhino-orbital mucormycosis who experienced complications due to internal carotid artery thrombosis.

Background: Each coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) wave is unique in its clinical presentation and outcome. In this study, we compared the clinical characteristics and outcomes of COVID waves 2-5 in inpatient settings.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Center on adult patients who were admitted with a positive COVID polymerase chain reaction from July 2020 to March 2022.
Treatment options for acute acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) instability include several surgical and non-surgical approaches. Recent trends indicate a shift towards nonoperative treatment, even for severe Rockwood type V injuries, which traditionally required surgery. Despite this shift, some patients may still benefit from surgical stabilisation, particularly if significant pain and disability persist.
