Thyroid cancers are the most common endocrine organ cancers. Encapsulated follicular variant papillary thyroid carcinomas (EFVPTC) are quite slow (indolent). Non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary nuclear feature (NIFTP) is a new entity identified as a result of studies in recent years.

Objective: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease that has no cure, and current therapies are intended to minimize pain. There is, therefore, a need for effective pharmacologic agents that reverse or slow the progression of joint damage. We report herein on an investigation of the effects of intra-articular injections of ganglioside sugars on the progression of OA in an experimental rabbit model.

Inflammatory bowel disease is triggered by abnormalities in epithelial barrier function and immunological responses, although its pathogenesis is poorly understood. The dextran sodium sulphate (DSS)-induced colitis model has been used to examine inflammation in the colon. Damage to mucosa primality occurs in the large intestine and scarcely in the small intestine.

Aberrant protein glycosylation is a hallmark alteration of cancer and is highly associated with cancer progression. Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is the most common type of thyroid cancer, but the -glycosylation of its glycoproteins has not been well characterized. In this work, we analyzed multiple freshly prepared PTC specimens along with paired normal tissue obtained from thyroidectomies.

Background: Considering the significant participation of the microenvironment in the local aggressiveness of odontogenic keratocysts, this study aims to evaluate the expression of ADAMTS-1 and its substrates, versican, aggrecan and brevican in this locally invasive odontogenic cyst.
Methods: Immunohistochemistry and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were conducted on 30 cases of odontogenic keratocysts (OKCs) and 20 dental follicles (DFs).
Results: The immunohistochemical expression of these proteins was predominantly cytoplasmic and granular across all samples.
