Background And Purpose: Total Mesorectal Excisions (TME) is the standard treatment of rectal cancer. It can be performed under laparoscopic, robotic or transanal approach. Inadvertent injury to surrounding structure like autonomic nerves is avoidable, no matter which approach is adopted. Lateral lymph node dissection (LLND) is a less commonly performed pelvic operation involving dissection in an unfamiliar area to most general surgeons. This article aims to clarify all the essential anatomy related to these procedures.
Methods: We performed thorough literature search and revision on the pelvic anatomy. Our cases of TME and LLND, under either laparoscopic or transanal approach, were reviewed. We integrated the knowledge from literatures and our own experience. The result was presented in details, together with original figures and intra-operative photos.
Main Findings: Anatomy of pelvic fascia, autonomic nerve system, anal canal and sphincter complex are core knowledge in performing TME and LLND.
Conclusions: Thorough understanding of the pelvic anatomy enables colorectal surgeons to master these procedures, avoid complication and perform extended resection. On the other hand, surgeons can appreciate the complex pelvic anatomy easier by seeing the pelvis in opposite angles (transabdominal and transaanal view).

The skin of the Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is covered by a form of armour formed mainly of scales, which often co-occur with osteoderms. Scales are keratinized, non-mineralized structures in the uppermost layer of the epidermis that are in contact with each other to form a system in which individual scales are isolated from each other by a softer skin fold zone. In the Varanus, the surface of the scales is flat and smooth (thoracic limb, abdomen, and tail areas), domed and smooth (head area) or domed with conical ornamentation (dorsal surface, pelvic limb-dorsal surface areas).

Background: Most studies on pelvic floor muscle morphology (dimensions, shape) and its relationship with patient characteristic risk factors of pelvic floor dysfunction (demographics, medical history) have largely pertained to White individuals with vaginas. There is a need to establish normative data on pelvic floor muscle anatomy and identify morphological differences in racially diverse cohorts that may play a role in racial differences in the prevalence and pathophysiology of pelvic floor dysfunction.
Objective: (s): This study aimed to compare levator ani muscle thickness and levator hiatal morphology and their association with patient characteristics, between asymptomatic Black and White women-identifying individuals with a vagina of reproductive age.

Objective: The aim of the present work is to systematically review and present the existing literature on anatomical variations of the appendix.
Methods: Detailed research was conducted in the PubMed medical database, using the terms "Appendix" AND "Anatomical variations", and 74 articles were initially revealed. After the application of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, all the non-related articles were excluded, and thus 40 articles were finally selected.
In percutaneous pelvic trauma surgery, accurate placement of Kirschner wires (K-wires) is crucial to ensure effective fracture fixation and avoid complications due to breaching the cortical bone along an unsuitable trajectory. Surgical navigation via mixed reality (MR) can help achieve precise wire placement in a low-profile form factor. Current approaches in this domain are as yet unsuitable for real-world deployment because they fall short of guaranteeing accurate visual feedback due to uncontrolled bending of the wire.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to measure the reliability of the expanded and revised Melbourne Cerebral Palsy Hip Classification System (r-MCPHCS) across different medical specialties.
Patients And Methods: Anteroposterior pelvic radiographs of a total of 44 patients (20 males, 24 females; median 16.7 years; range, 12 to 32 years) with cerebral palsy (CP) were analyzed between January 2005 and December 2020.
