The content and composition of intramuscular fat (IMF) affect the cooked meat palatability such as tenderness and juiciness. Thus, elucidation of lipid deposition and its composition in goat IMF is necessary. Here, Jianzhou big-ear goats with higher IMF content is associated with lower mRNA level of LKB1 gene, compared with those of Chuannan black goats.

A large keloid on the right earlobe that extended to the infraauricular region was the reason for the 42-year-old woman's referral for treatment. The entire thickness of the earlobe was implicated in the surgical defect that resulted from the severe keloid excision. This study aimed to analyze vital sign characteristics of adult patients admitted at the Tertiary Hospital, and to define fever threshold and average body temperature by examining the tympanic temperatures of all patients. Retrospective medical data were extracted from 9195 patients aged > 21 years admitted to a tertiary hospital for elective surgeries between 2016 and 2020. Data regarding the patients' vital signs during their hospital stay, including tympanic body temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate, were analyzed according to age, sex, and circadian rhythm.

Hearing mediates many behaviours critical for survival in echolocating bats, including foraging and navigation. Although most mammals are susceptible to progressive age-related hearing loss, the evolution of biosonar, which requires the ability to hear low-intensity echoes from outgoing sonar signals, may have selected against the development of hearing deficits in bats. Many echolocating bats exhibit exceptional longevity and rely on acoustic behaviours for survival to old age; however, relatively little is known about the ageing bat auditory system.
