Process-based quantitative description of carbon biogeochemical cycle in a reclaimed water intake area.

State Key Laboratory of Nuclear Resources and Environment, Fundamental Science on Radioactive Geology and Exploration Technology Laboratory, Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Genesis and Remediation of Groundwater Pollution, School of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, East China University of Technology, Nanchang, Jiangxi, 330013, P.R. China.

Reclaimed water plays a pivotal role in addressing water scarcity and pollution. The carbon (C) cycle significantly impacts aquatic ecosystems and water quality, yet the C biogeochemical cycle in nutrient-rich reclaimed water remains enigmatic. This study focuses on reclaimed water, developing a conceptual biogeochemical mass balance model to examine C cycling and assess the C budget in the highly eutrophic Jian and Chaobai rivers.

Purpose: The purpose of this laboratory study was to evaluate common materials for isolation and neutralizing agents for hydrofluoric acid (HF). Additionally, surfaces of lithium disilicate ceramic were examined for precipitates after the etching and neutralizing process.

Materials And Methods: The HF permeability of the following isolation agents (n=8) was investigated by positioning them over pH indicator paper under airtight conditions and applying 9% HF: latex rubber dam; elastic plastomer rubber dam; nitrile gloves; latex gloves; liquid rubber dam; Teflon; AZ strip.

Objective: This double-blind, split-mouth, randomized equivalence clinical trial aimed to evaluate the 18-month clinical performance of an ormocer-based single-shade resin composite compared with an ormocer-based multi-shade resin composite in non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs).

Methods: One hundred and twenty restorations were performed on NCCLs with two restorative materials (n = 60): Admira Fusion X-tra resin composite (ormocer-based single-shade), and Admira Fusion resin composite (ormocer-based multi-shade). After rubber dam isolation, a universal adhesive was applied in the selective enamel etching strategy.

Objectives: This case report describes the clinical protocols for the removal of crowns, tooth extraction, immediate implant placement, and cementation of new crowns, all performed under total or partial isolation with a dental dam.

Clinical Considerations: The patient's chief complaint was dissatisfaction with her smile. Radiographic and clinical evaluations led to the recommendation to replace the porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns on the maxillary central and lateral incisors with all-ceramic crowns.

Department of Restorative Dentistry, Center for Dentistry and Oral Hygiene, University Medical Center Groningen, The University of Groningen, Groningen, the Netherlands; Department of Special Dental Care, Martini Hospital, Groningen, the Netherlands.

Objective: To evaluate the influence of the (undergraduate) operator on the survival and success rate of posterior partial lithium disilicate restorations.

Materials And Methods: Patients who received at least one posterior partial lithium disilicate restoration between 2009 and 2019 by undergraduates at the Center for Dentistry and Oral Hygiene in Groningen were included. Operator- (academic year (4th, 5th, 6th year)), patient- (presence of a nightguard, caries risk, age), tooth- (endodontic status, inlay/onlay, position of the restoration outline) and material-related factors (cement type, rubber dam use, Immediate Dentin Sealing) on the survival and success rate were analyzed using multilevel Cox regression (p < 0.
