The HeartMate 3 (HM3, Abbott) left ventricular assist device (LVAD) is the only commercially available option considered suitable for long-term circulatory support. External compression of the outflow graft causing obstruction (eOGO) is a serious adverse event affecting patients on long-term support. The obstruction occurs due to the accumulation of gelatinous substance between the bend relief and outflow graft.

Subvalvular aortic stenosis typically manifests at a young age and rarely presents in adulthood. It may cause left ventricular outflow tract stenosis, which requires surgical treatment in severe cases. The coexistence of discrete subvalvular aortic stenosis and quadricuspid aortic valve is a highly unusual finding.

Background: This study sought to determine the safety of primary and staged biventricular repair in neonates with interrupted aortic arch (IAA), ventricular septal defect (VSD), and severe left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO).
Methods: Patients with a fundamental diagnosis of IAA and VSD between 2015 and 2020 were extracted from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database by using a Participant User File. The objective was to compare outcomes for neonates undergoing primary and staged Yasui and Ross operations.

Purpose: To report the outcomes of the early feasibility study of transapical transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) with the SATURN System (InnovHeart, Milano, Italy) to treat patients with severe functional mitral regurgitation.
Description: Five high surgical risk patients underwent transapical transcatheter mitral valve replacement with the SATURN System at a single center. One-year follow-up is complete for all patients.

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is a condition that often leads to long-term enlargement of the aortic root in after surgery. The aortic dilation is believed to be caused by histological abnormalities of the aortic media and the hemodynamic characteristics of increased aortic flow, compared to pulmonary flow. Severe cyanosis, severe right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) obstruction, older age at repair, a larger aortic size at the time of repair, and a history of an aortopulmonary shunt parameters related to long-standing volume overload of the aortic root were the reported risk factors.
