Recently, robust d-wave superconductive (SC) order has been unveiled in the ground state of the 2D t-t^{'}-J model-with both nearest-neighbor (t) and next-nearest-neighbor (t^{'}) hoppings-by density matrix renormalization group studies. However, there is currently a debate on whether the d-wave SC holds up strong on both t^{'}/t>0 and t^{'}/t<0 cases for the t-t^{'}-J model, which correspond to the electron- and hole-doped sides of the cuprate phase diagram, respectively. Here, we exploit state-of-the-art thermal tensor network approach to accurately obtain the phase diagram of the t-t^{'}-J model on cylinders with widths up to W=6 and down to low temperature as T/J≃0.

ConspectusWhile traditional quantum chemical theories have long been central to research, they encounter limitations when applied to complex situations. Two of the most widely used quantum chemical approaches, Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory (TDDFT), perform well in cases with relatively weak electron correlation, such as the ground-state minima of closed-shell systems (Franck-Condon region). However, their applicability diminishes in more demanding scenarios.

The surgical management of hepatic metastases from colorectal cancer may range from segmental resections to major or extended hepatectomies. The aim is to achieve complete removal of metastatic lesions while preserving adequate liver function. Background: The treatment of locally recurrent rectal cancer has evolved dramatically in recent decades. As the boundaries of exenterative surgery continue to be pushed, one of the unanswered and controversial questions is the role of radical salvage surgery for locally recurrent rectal cancer in the setting of oligometastatic disease.
Objective: To investigate the impact of synchronous or previously treated distant metastases on survival following pelvic exenteration for locally recurrent rectal cancer.

A new high energy proton radiography facility PRIOR-II (Proton Microscope for FAIR) has been designed, constructed, and successfully commissioned at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung (Darmstadt, Germany) pushing the technical boundaries of charged particle radiography with normal conducting magnets to the limits. The setup is foreseen to become a new and powerful user facility for carrying out fundamental science experiments in the fields of plasma and shock wave physics, material science, and medical physics. It will help address several unsolved scientific challenges, which require high-speed and precise non-invasive diagnostic methods capable of probing matter with up to 100 g/cm2 areal density.
