Endovascular coiling has become the preferred treatment of many centers for the management of both ruptured and unruptured aneurysms. Coil migration is a rare complication that can lead to vessel occlusion in 90% of the cases. Endovascular techniques for coil retrieval have shown less complication rates than open surgery. Stent retriever devices have been successfully used for the retrieval of proximally migrated coils, however, distally migrated coils still represent a challenge with greater risk of complications. In the present technical video 1, we demonstrate the successful retrieval of a distally M3 migrated coil using a 3 mm Trevo XP ProVue stent riever (Stryker Neurovascular, Fremont, CA, USA) in combination with proximal aspiration. neurintsurg;13/9/860/V1F1V1Video 1.

Introduction: In asymptomatic subjects, variations of sagittal alignment parameters according to age and pelvic incidence (PI) has been reported. The aim of this observational study was to describe thoraco-lumbar sagittal alignment in patients with degenerative scoliosis and to compare them to asymptomatic individuals, seeking for the specific effect of deformity in similar age and PI groups.
Materials And Methods: Full spine radiographs of 235 asymptomatic subjects and 243 scoliosis patients were analyzed: cervico-thoracic inflexion point (CTIP), thoraco-lumbar inflexion point (TLIP), lumbar lordosis (LL) L1-S1, LL (TLIP-S1), LL superior arch (TLIP-lumbar apex), LL inferior arch (lumbar apex-S1), PI, thoracic kyphosis (TK) T5-T12, TK T1-T12, number of vertebrae CTIP-TLIPandTLIP-S1.

Introduction: Congenital lumbar kyphosis is present in about 15% of patients with myelomeningocele. Worsening of deformity with complications such as chronic skin ulcers and bone exposure is common. In patients under 8 years of age, treatment becomes even more challenging: in addition to resecting the apex of the kyphotic deformity, we should ideally stabilize the spine with fixation methods that do not interrupt the growth of the rib cage, associated with the challenging pelvic fixation in this population.

Mammalian blood cells originate from specialized 'hemogenic' endothelial (HE) cells in major arteries. During the endothelial-to-hematopoietic transition (EHT), nascent hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) bud from the arterial endothelial wall and enter circulation, destined to colonize the fetal liver before ultimately migrating to the bone marrow. Mechanisms and processes that facilitate EHT and the release of nascent HSCs are incompletely understood, but may involve signaling from neighboring vascular endothelial cells, stromal support cells, circulating pre-formed hematopoietic cells, and/or systemic factors secreted by distal organs.

Background And Aims: Coins are the most commonly ingested foreign bodies. When they get stuck in the distal esophagus there is no general agreement about the timing of their removal, since some of them may spontaneously migrate into the stomach, no longer requiring removal. We aimed at evaluating the gastric spontaneous passage of esophageal-retained coins, as well as complications.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play vital roles in the development and progression of various tumors through multiple mechanisms. Among these, HOTTIP (HOXA transcript at the distal tip) stands out as an intriguing candidate with diverse functions in several malignancies, including breast cancer and gynecologic cancers such as ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers, which are significant global health concerns. HOTTIP interacts with key signaling pathways associated with these cancers, including Wnt/β-catenin, PI3K/AKT, and MEK/ERK pathways, enhancing their activation and downstream effects.
