Background/objectives: The avascular nature of the follicle creates a hypoxic microenvironment, establishing a niche where granulosa cells (GCs) rely on glycolysis to produce energy in the form of lactate (L-lactate). Autophagy, an evolutionarily conserved stress-response process, involves the formation of autophagosomes to encapsulate intracellular components, delivering them to lysosomes for degradation. This process plays a critical role in maintaining optimal follicular development.

Aim Of The Study: Analysis of clinical, laboratory and instrumental parameters in comorbid patients with severe COVID-19.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical, laboratory and instrumental parameters in patients with laboratory-confirmed severe COVID-19 taking into account the treatment outcome (recovery or lethal outcome). A multifactor logistic regression model was utilized to identify factors influencing lethal outcome in patients with severe COVID-19.

Rationale: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical syndrome associated with a multitude of conditions. Although renal replacement therapy (RRT) remains the cornerstone of treatment for advanced AKI, its implementation can potentially pose risks and may not be readily accessible across all healthcare settings and regions. Elevated lactate levels are implicated in sepsis-induced AKI; however, it remains unclear whether increased lactate directly induces AKI or elucidates the underlying mechanisms.

The retrospective study was conducted at Baoding No.1 Central Hospital, China, and comprised data from July 2021 to January 2023, and aimed at exploring the relationship of neuron-specific enolase, D-dimer and lactate dehydrogenase with prognosis in patients with serous traumatic brain injury. Data of 100 patients was categorised into favourable prognosis group A having 50(50%) patients and unfavourable prognosis group B having 50(50%) patients, and was compared with as many healthy controls in group C.

Lactate dehydrogenase plays a key role in alleviating hypoxia during prolonged submergence. To explore the function of the OsLdh7 gene in enhancing submergence tolerance, we overexpressed this gene in rice (Oryza sativa cv. IR64) and subjected the transgenic lines to complete inundation.
