Background: Current clinical decision support systems (DSS) are trained and validated on observational data from the clinic in which the DSS is going to be applied. This is problematic for treatments that have already been validated in a randomized clinical trial (RCT), but have not yet been introduced in any clinic. In this work, we report on a method for training and validating the DSS core before introduction to a clinic, using the RCT data themselves.

Background: Acute subdural hematoma (ASDH) is a critical and often fatal condition, particularly in elderly patients receiving anticoagulant therapy. With a growing global aging population, the incidence of traumatic brain injuries, including ASDH, is projected to rise, presenting significant challenges in clinical management. This study evaluates the outcomes of surgically treated ASDH in patients aged 65 years and older, comparing those who received anticoagulant therapy with those who did not.

Background/objectives: Military aviators can be exposed to extreme physiological stressors, including decompression stress, G-forces, as well as intermittent hypoxia and/or hyperoxia, which may contribute to neurobiological dysfunction/damage. This study aimed to investigate the levels of neurological biomarkers in military aviators to assess the potential risk of long-term brain injury and neurodegeneration.
Methods: This cross-sectional study involved 48 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) aviators and 48 non-aviator CAF controls.

CAR-T cell therapy has been proven to be effective on hematological tumors, although graft-versus-host disease and cytokine release syndrome(CRS) limit its application to a certain extent. However, CAR-T therapy for solid tumors met challenges, among which the lack of tumor-specific antigens (TSA) and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) are the most important factors. CAR-NK could be a good alternative to CAR-T in some ways since they can induce mild CRS and are independent of HLA-matching, but the efficacy of CAR-NKs remains limited in solid tumors.

Background: The prevalence of mental health disorders among children and adolescents presents a significant public health challenge. Children exposed to armed conflicts are at a particularly high risk of developing mental health problems, necessitating prompt and robust intervention. The acute need for early intervention in these situations is well recognized, as timely support can mitigate long-term negative outcomes.
