Titanium dioxide thin films immobilized over treated stainless steel were prepared using the pulsed electrophoretic deposition technique. The effects of process parameters (deposition time, applied voltage, initial concentration, and duty cycle) on photocatalytic efficiency and adhesion properties were investigated. To optimize the multiple properties of the thin film, a response surface methodology was combined with a desirability optimization methodology. Additionally, a quadratic model was established based on response surface analysis. The precision of the models was defined based on the analysis of variance (ANOVA), R, and the normal plot of residuals. Then, a desirability function was used to optimize the multiple responses of the TiO thin film. The optimum values of applied voltage, catalyst concentration, duty cycle, and deposition time were 4 V, 16.34 g/L, 90% , and 150 s, respectively. Under these conditions, the decolorization efficiency of tested dye solution reached 82.75%. The values of critical charges , and were 5.9 N, 12.5 N, and 16.7 N, respectively.

Core-shell-based nanomaterials have garnered considerable attention in the recent past not only in catalytic applications but also in their potentiality in selective and efficient sensing. Present research reports the first and successful biosynthesis of the core (c-AlO)-shell nanoparticles (NPs) using blossom extract as reducing and capping agents. The synthesized c-AlO NPs were characterized and utilized to fabricate nanobioengineered electrodes on indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates via electrophoretic deposition.

Assembling small molecules at liquid/solid interfaces is relatively common and contributes to many unique properties of the interface. However, such an assembling process can be dynamic depending on the concentration of the molecule and the properties of the solid and liquid themselves, which poses serious challenges on the accurate evaluation of the assembling processes. Herein, we report a convenient way for in situ and real-time monitoring of assembling-disassembling of small-molecule surfactants on the surface of microchannels using pulsed streaming potential (SP) measurement based on the variation of surface charge.

Platinum-based neural electrodes, frequently alloyed with Ir or W, are routinely used to treat neurological disorders. However, their performance is impaired by an increase in impedance that compromises long-term implant functionality. Though there are multiple coating techniques available to address this issue, electrode, and base material often exhibit a compositional mismatch, which impairs mechanical stability and may lead to toxicological side effects.
