Introduction: Supervising the development of occlusion, managing problems during the transition from mixed to permanent dentition, as well as controlling environmental factors that contribute to establishing malocclusion, are important actions to achieve a Class I occlusion with facial balance. Among these problems, the malocclusions associated with dysfunctions such as mouth breathing or obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), atypical swallowing and abnormal tongue position, open bites, crossbites and maxillomandibular discrepancies, and especially the Class III malocclusion can be listed.
Objective: The purpose of this article is to present and discuss the main aspects relevant to the benefits of performing the treatment of Class III malocclusion in patients with growth.

Importance: Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) affects approximately 50% of women. There are limited data regarding trends in management as treatment options have changed.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze trends in the surgical management of SUI, including slings and urethral bulking, from 2012 to 2022.

Summary: Oral levothyroxine (LT4) is prescribed worldwide for hypothyroidism. Bariatric surgery for patients with obesity has shown a substantial, long-term weight loss and considerable improvement of obesity-related diseases. LT4 malabsorption represents a significant cause of refractory hypothyroidism, well known after malabsorptive bariatric surgery such as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.

Although nickel is found in the active sites of a class of superoxide dismutase (SOD), nickel complexes with non-peptidic ligands normally do not catalyze superoxide degradation, and none has displayed activity comparable to those of the best manganese-containing SOD mimics. Here, we find that nickel complexes with polydentate quinol-containing ligands can exhibit catalytic activity comparable to those of the most efficient manganese-containing SOD mimics. The nickel complexes retain a significant portion of their activity in phosphate buffer and under operando conditions and rely on ligand-centered redox processes for catalysis.

In cutaneous melanoma, epigenetic dysregulation is implicated in drug resistance and tumor immune escape. However, the epigenetic mechanisms that influence immune escape remain poorly understood. To elucidate how epigenetic dysregulation alters the expression of surface proteins that may be involved in drug targeting and immune escape, we performed a 3-dimensional surfaceome screen in primary melanoma cultures and identified the DNA-methyltransferase inhibitor decitabine as significantly upregulating the costimulatory molecule ICAM-1.

Background: Up to 50% of patients undergoing mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (MTEER) have an indication for left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO). However, prospective evaluation of this strategy is lacking.
Objectives: The aim of the study was to prospectively evaluate the outcomes of combined LAAO and MTEER.
