Objectives: In this study, we investigated the effects of intense pulsed light (IPL) combined with 30% supramolecular salicylic acid on facial seborrheic dermatitis.

Methods: A total of 45 patients with mild or moderate facial seborrheic dermatitis were selected from our hospital between September 2018 and September 2019. The patients were divided into three groups consisting of 15 patients each. The first group was exposed to a combination of IPL and 30% supramolecular salicylic acid treatment, the second group was exposed to the IPL treatment alone, and the third group was exposed to the 30% supramolecular salicylic acid treatment alone. They were treated once every 4 weeks in three consecutive rounds.

Results: Facial lesions and symptoms were observed 4 and 12 weeks after the first treatment, and adverse reactions were recorded. The combination group showed significant improvement in symptoms 4 weeks after the first treatment, while the individual treatment groups showed no significant improvement. After three rounds of treatments, seborrheic dermatitis had significantly decreased in the three groups; the efficacy of the combined treatment group was significantly higher than that of the IPL group and the 30% supramolecular salicylic acid group.

Conclusion: IPL combined with 30% supramolecular salicylic acid was effective in the treatment of facial seborrheic dermatitis and provided a quicker result with no adverse reactions.

Cardiac Surgery Department, Sanatorio Italiano, Asunción, Paraguay.

Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) remains the gold standard in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease (CAD). Saphenous vein grafts (SVG) are commonly used for the non-left anterior descending artery (LAD). However, SVG failure rates in CABG surgery have been reported to be as high as 30% at 1 year and ∼50% at 10 years.

A series of luminescent bis-cyclometalated iridium complexes with 2,2':6',2″-terpyridine (tpy), [Ir()(tpy)]PF ( = 2-phenylpyridinate (ppy) for ; benzo[h]quinolinate (bzq) for ; 1-phenylisoquinolinate (piq) for ; and 2-phenylbenzothiazolate (pbt) for ), have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that the tpy ligands of - are coordinated to the iridium center in a bidentate fashion, and the uncoordinated pendant pyridine rings in the tpy ligands of - form intramolecular π-π stacking interactions with a phenyl moiety of ligands. In addition, the pendant pyridine ring in the tpy ligand of forms an intramolecular hydrogen bonding interaction, unlike in -.

Azulene-1,3-bis(semicarbazone), , and azulene-1,3-bis(thiosemicarbazone), , were synthesized by the acid-catalyzed condensation reactions of semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide, respectively, with azulene-1,3-dicarboxaldehyde in stoichiometric amounts. Compounds and were identified by high-resolution mass spectrometry and characterized by IR, H-NMR, C-NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopic techniques. Crystal structure determination of azulene-1,3-bis(thiosemicarbazone) shows that the thiosemicarbazone units exhibit a -closed conformation, with both arms oriented in the same direction and adopting an configuration with respect to the imine linkages.

Dynamic Peptide Nanoframework-Guided Protein Coassembly: Advancing Adhesion Performance with Hierarchical Structures.

Engineering Research Center of Advanced Rare Earth Materials (Ministry of Education), Department of Chemistry, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China.

Hierarchical structures are essential in natural adhesion systems. Replicating these in synthetic adhesives is challenging due to intricate molecular mechanisms and multiscale processes. Here, we report three phosphorylated peptides featuring a hydrophobic self-assembly motif linked to a hydrophilic phosphorylated sequence (pSGSS), forming peptide fibril nanoframeworks.

The effective S-scheme homojunction relies on the precise regulation of band structure and construction of advantaged charge migration interfaces. Here, the electronic structural properties of g-C3N4 were modulated through meticulous polymerization of self-assembled supramolecular precursors. Experimental and DFT results indicate that both the intrinsic bandgap and surface electronic characteristics were adjusted, leading to the formation of an in-situ reconstructed homojunction interface facilitated by intrinsic van der Waals forces.
