Objective: To assess the impact of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic screening restrictions on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in a single health system.
Materials And Methods: We performed a retrospective, cohort investigation of breast cancer patients at a multi-institution health system from March 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020 with two time periods related to the pandemic: "Early phase" (March 18 - June 7) reflecting the time of the screening mammography moratorium and "Late phase" (June 8 - December 31) to reflect the time once screening mammography resumed. 2020 was compared to 2019 to exclude potential differences from temporal or seasonal changes.

Background: Studies have estimated that a large backlog of procedures was generated by emergency measures implemented in Ontario, Canada, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, when nonessential and scheduled procedures were postponed. Understanding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the time needed to perform a procedure may help to determine the resources needed to tackle the substantial backlog caused by the deferral of cases. The purpose of this study was to examine the duration of operating room (OR) procedures before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to inform planning around changes in required resources.

From March 19 to May 26, all elective total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) procedures were deferred. The purpose of this study was to review the unit sales data of THA and TKA procedures in Ontario over this time period to identify any trends in surgical activity.

Purpose: To investigate the visual and anatomical impact of intravitreal injection treatment deferral because of the COVID-19 lockdown on patients affected by neovascular age-related macular degeneration.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 314 patients (394 eyes) who were scheduled to receive the impact of intravitreal injections during the Swiss lockdown. We compared patients who continued to receive scheduled impact of intravitreal treatment without clinical consultation (Group Continue ‟C"; n = 215) and patients for whom the impact of intravitreal treatment was completely deferred (Group Stop, ‟S"; n = 179).
