To form a unified and coherent perception of the organism's state and its relationship with the surrounding environment, the nervous system combines information from various sensory modalities through multisensory integration processes. Occasionally, data from two or more sensory channels may provide conflicting information. This is particularly evident in experiments using the mirror-guided drawing task and the mirror-box illusion, where there is conflict between positional estimates guided by vision and proprioception.

Athlete body dissatisfaction is prevalent across sports and can lead to disordered eating, negative affect, and poor mental health. Whether body image concerns persist into athletic retirement is a focus of research, predominately involving survey-based data in usually sub-elite athletic samples. This study is the first to focus on the meanings elite athletes ascribe to their bodies in retirement.

The use of evolutionary robotic systems to model aspects of evolutionary biology is well-established. Yet, few studies have asked the question, "What kind of model is an evolutionary robotic system?" This paper seeks to address that question in several ways. First, it is addressed by applying a structured model description developed for physical robot models of animal sensorimotor systems, then by outlining the strengths and limitations of evolutionary robotics for modelling evolutionary biology, and, finally, by considering the deepest questions in evolution and which of them might feasibly be modelled by evolutionary robotics.

The integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into mental healthcare and research heralds a potentially transformative shift, one offering enhanced access to care, efficient data collection, and innovative therapeutic tools. This paper reviews the development, function, and burgeoning use of LLMs in psychiatry, highlighting their potential to enhance mental healthcare through improved diagnostic accuracy, personalized care, and streamlined administrative processes. It is also acknowledged that LLMs introduce challenges related to computational demands, potential for misinterpretation, and ethical concerns, necessitating the development of pragmatic frameworks to ensure their safe deployment.
