Objectives: Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) provides incomplete information about bone strength. There are few data on the relationship between osteoporosis-related examinations and bone strength. The objective of the present study was to determine which osteoporosis-related examinations best predicted trabecular bone strength, and to enhance a formula for predicting bone strength on the basis of bone density examination.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the impact of physical performance of geriatric women on their fracture risk and bone mineral density (BMD) assessed with radiofrequency echographic multispectrometry (REMS).
Methods: We conducted a prospective observational study to assess the physical performance, BMD and fracture risk in 182 geriatric women aged 60 years and older. BMD was measured using REMS scanning (developed by Echolight S.

Unlabelled: A cost-effectiveness analysis of FRAX® intervention thresholds (ITs) in Indian women over 50 years indicated that generic alendronate was cost-effective for age-dependent major osteoporotic fracture (MOF) ITs and hip fracture (HF) ITs starting at ages 60 and 65 years for full and real-world adherence, respectively. Alendronate was cost-effective at fixed MOF IT of 14% and HF IT of 3.5%, regardless of age.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of integrating obstetric parameters into the Fracture Risk Assessment Tool (FRAX) on the precision of risk assessment.
Patients And Methods: In this retrospective study, patients who experienced postmenopausal fragility fractures of the distal radius, proximal femur, or lumbar vertebrae between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2023, were included. Obstetric histories, along with standard FRAX parameters, were obtained by phone interviews.

Unlabelled: A surrogate FRAX® model for Nepal has been constructed using age- and sex-specific hip fracture rates for Indians living in Singapore and age- and sex-specific mortality rates from Nepal.
Introduction: FRAX models are frequently requested for countries with little or no data on the incidence of hip fractures. In such circumstances, the development of a surrogate FRAX model is recommended based on country-specific mortality data but using fracture data from a country, usually within the region, where fracture rates are considered to be representative of the index country.
