RbBaPO:Eu phosphors have been prepared by a high-temperature solid-state reaction method, and the structure was determined by Rietveld refinement based on powder X-ray diffraction (P-XRD) data. Their VUV-UV-vis photoluminescence properties are systematically investigated with three objectives: (1) based on low-temperature spectra, we clarify the site occupancies of Eu, and demonstrate that the doublet emission bands at ∼406 and ∼431 nm originate from Eu in Ba [Eu(I)] and Rb [Eu(II)] sites, respectively; (2) an electron-vibrational interaction (EVI) analysis is conducted to estimate the Huang-Rhys factors, the zero-phonon lines (ZPLs) and the Stokes shifts of Eu in Rb and Ba sites; (3) the studies on luminescence decay of Eu(I) reveal that dipole-dipole interaction is mainly responsible for the energy transfer from Eu(I) to Eu(II), and the energy migration between Eu(I) is weak. Finally, the X-ray excited luminescence (XEL) spectrum indicates that the light yield of the sample RbBaEuPO is ∼17 700 ph/MeV, showing its potential application in X-ray detecting.

-glycosylation plays a crucial role in defining the pharmacological properties and efficacy of therapeutic proteins, commonly referred to as biologics. The inherent complexity and lack of a templated process in glycosylation leads to a wide variation in glycan structures, posing significant challenges in achieving consistent glycan profiles on biologics. This study leverages omics technologies to predict which cell lines are likely to yield optimal glycosylation profiles, based on the existing knowledge of the functional impact of specific glycan structures on the pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and stability of therapeutic antibodies.

Neisseria gonorrhoeae exhibits alarming antibiotic resistance trends and poses a significant challenge in therapeutic management. This study aimed to explore the association of penA alleles with penicillin-binding protein (PBP) occupancy patterns and reduced outer membrane permeability, impacting susceptibility to last-line cephalosporins and potential β-lactam candidates. The whole genome sequence, the MICs and PBP IC50s were determined for 12 β-lactams and β-lactamase inhibitors in 8 clinical isolates with varying β-lactam sensitivity, 2 ATCC, and 3 WHO cephalosporin-resistant reference strains.

Quantifying temporal changes in species occurrence has been a key part of ecology since its inception. We quantified multidecadal site occupancy trajectories for 18 bird species in four independent long-term, large-scale studies (571 sites, ~1000 km latitude) in Australia. We found evidence of a year × long-term study interaction in the best-fitting models for 14 of the 18 species analysed, with differences in the temporal trajectories of the same species in multiple studies consistent with non-stationarity.

The physiological performance of ectotherms is influenced by temperature, raising concerns about the impact of global warming on ectotherms. Understanding the relationship between ecologically relevant temperatures and the physiological performance of ectotherms provides a basis for assessing their resilience to changing environments. Absolute aerobic scope (AAS) is a functional metric of the thermal performance of aquatic ectotherms.
