Non-invasive lobular neoplasia (LN) encompasses atypical lobular hyperplasia (ALH), classic lobular carcinoma in situ (CLCIS), florid lobular carcinoma in situ (FLCIS), and pleomorphic lobular carcinoma in situ (PLCIS). Lobular neoplasia is a neoplastic epithelial proliferation of the terminal duct lobular unit. Root age-dependent processes have remained poorly understood. Here, we define root age-related terms in their eco-/physiological context, provide a synthesis of read-outs and traits characterizing root senescence in different root types, and follow their modulation in the light of metabolic, hormonal, and genetic control. Evidence for an endogenously regulated senescence program in roots includes changes in root anatomy, metabolism, and color, decrease in root activity, increasing levels of stress-related hormones, and increasing expression of certain transcription factors (TFs) or genes involved in oxidative stress defense.

Sex/gender differences in hemispheric asymmetries.

This chapter will critically review evidence across 40 years of research, covering both early and contemporary studies that have investigated sex/gender differences in hemispheric asymmetries, including both structural and functional asymmetries. We argue that small sex/gender differences in hemispheric asymmetry reliably exist, but there is significant overlap between the sexes and considerable within-sex variation. Furthermore, we argue that research to date is limited in its consideration of sex/gender-related factors, such as sex hormones and gender roles.
