Piezoresistive Cantilever Microprobe with Integrated Actuator for Contact Resonance Imaging.

Sensors (Basel)

January 2025

Institute of Semiconductor Technology (IHT), Technische Universität Braunschweig, Hans-Sommer-Straße 66, 38106 Braunschweig, Germany.

A novel piezoresistive cantilever microprobe (PCM) with an integrated electrothermal or piezoelectric actuator has been designed to replace current commercial PCMs, which require external actuators to perform contact-resonance imaging (CRI) of workpieces and avoid unwanted "forest of peaks" observed at large travel speed in the millimeter-per-second range. Initially, a PCM with integrated resistors for electrothermal actuation (ETA) was designed, built, and tested. Here, the ETA can be performed with a piezoresistive Wheatstone bridge, which converts mechanical strain into electrical signals by boron diffusion in order to simplify the production process.

Despite optimal local control obtained with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (CRT), data on overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of local advanced rectal cancer patients are still equivocal. This meta-analysis aimed to estimate the pathological complete response (pCR), regression rate, DFS, and OS probabilities of rectal cancer patients treated with a second chemotherapy drug added to fluoropyrimidine and long-term radiotherapy. Computerized bibliographic searches of MEDLINE, PUBMED, Web of Science and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases (1970-2023) were supplemented with hand searches of reference lists.

Research Progress on Titanium-Niobium Micro-Alloyed High-Strength Steel.

Materials (Basel)

January 2025

School of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Wuhan Polytechnic University, Wuhan 430023, China.

Research on micro-alloyed steel is a strategic measure to meet the needs of various industries and promote green development, and it is essential for many major steel-producing countries. Currently, the mainstream micro-alloying elements in the research and application of micro-alloyed steel are V, Ti, and Nb. Due to the high price of V, the actual production is mostly achieved by adding titanium-niobium composite to change the properties of high-strength steel.

Tailoring amino-functionalized n-alkyl methacrylate ester-based bio-hybrids for adsorption of methyl orange dye: Controllable macromolecular architecture via polysaccharide-integrated ternary copolymerization.

Int J Biol Macromol

January 2025

Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Chemistry, Soft Materials Research Laboratory, 34469, Maslak, Istanbul, Turkey. Electronic address:

Controllable macromolecular architecture formation via polysaccharide integrated ternary copolymerization was explored in the design of amino-functionalized n-alkyl methacrylate ester-based biohybrids. Ternary poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate-co-glycidyl methacrylate-co-hydroxypropyl methacrylate)/sodium-alginate, PDGH/ALG, hybrids were designed using anionic polysaccharide through in-situ radical polymerization. An insight into the effect of ALG on physicochemical structure of ternary hybrids, particularly the interactions between polymeric chains, was created.

Breast cancer ranks as the second most prevalent cancer globally and is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women; therefore, early, automated, and precise detection is essential. Most AI-based techniques for breast cancer detection are complex and have high computational costs. Hence, to overcome this challenge, we have presented the innovative LightweightUNet hybrid deep learning (DL) classifier for the accurate classification of breast cancer.
