Accurate self-assessments enhance learning and patient care, yet resident physicians self-assess poorly. We therefore tested the effects of a consider-the-opposite (CTO) cognitive debiasing technique on self-assessment accuracy among anesthesiology residents. Trainees self-assessed their technical skills and communication/leadership abilities, then completed a CTO intervention before repeating self-assessments.

Tooth impaction and eruption failure present common challenges in pediatric dentistry. We report a case of a 10-year-old boy of Indian origin presenting with a missing left mandibular primary second molar and impacted first permanent molar. Radiographic examination revealed an ankylosed primary molar obstructing the path of an unerupted premolar.

Urological malignancies during pregnancy are exceedingly rare, with bladder cancer posing significant diagnostic and management challenges. This study describes a 28-year-old pregnant woman diagnosed with non-invasive papillary urothelial carcinoma, presenting with painless hematuria at 22 weeks of gestation. The diagnostic process included ultrasound and MRI, both of which confirmed a solitary polypoidal lesion.

The gagging reflex during dental treatment is a common concern for dentists and patients. Herein, we describe a novel approach to managing severe gagging reflex, termed the "KOJIMA program," using a systematic desensitization technique combined with an ultrasound-guided selective glossopharyngeal nerve block (UGSGNB). After performing the UGSGNB, the participants were trained to touch the inside of their mouths with a cotton swab.
