Ineffective communication is commonly listed as a root cause of sentinel events and other adverse events in the health care setting. The psychological safety of all employees is considered to be a factor that promotes effective communication. Recently, leaders of a radiology department learned that many of the frontline staff did not feel they were being treated respectfully by radiologists during routine interactions. On a baseline survey, only 48% of technologists, reading room assistants, and child life specialists rated their interactions with radiologists as very good or excellent. An improvement team was formed, representing radiologists, technologists, reading room assistants, and child life specialists throughout the department. The improvement team launched a series of interventions with a goal of increasing the percentage of interactions rated as very good or excellent from 48% to 90%. The improvement team focused interventions on three topics: in-person interactions, telephone interactions, and trainee interactions. By the time of this publication, the median percentage of interactions rated as very good or excellent improved to 75%, with a maximum surveyed value of 90%.RSNA, 2020.

In the medical field, endoscopic video analysis is crucial for disease diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery. The Endoscopic Foundation Models (Endo- FM) utilize large-scale self-supervised pre-training on endoscopic video data and leverage video transformer models to capture long-range spatiotemporal dependencies. However, detecting complex lesions such as gastrointestinal metaplasia (GIM) in endoscopic videos remains challenging due to unclear boundaries and indistinct features, and Endo-FM has not demonstrated good performance.

Patients with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction frequently present asymmetries in the sagittal plane dynamics when performing single leg jumps but their assessment is inaccessible to health-care professionals as it requires a complex and expensive system. With the development of deep learning methods for human pose detection, kinematics can be quantified based on a video and this study aimed to investigate whether a relatively simple 2D multibody model could predict relevant dynamic biomarkers based on the kinematics using inverse dynamics. Six participants performed ten vertical and forward single leg hops while the kinematics and the ground reaction force "GRF" were captured using an optoelectronic system coupled with a force platform.

Lithium (Li) metal's extremely high specific energy and low potential make it critical for high-performance batteries. However, uncontrolled dendrite growth and an unstable solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) during repeated cycling still seriously hinder its practical application in Li metal batteries. Herein, we demonstrate a facile and effective approach to fabricate a flexible and robust hybrid SEI layer using two kinds of organo-polysulfides with different sulfur chain lengths [bis(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)disulfide (Si-O-2S) and bis(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)tetrasulfide (Si-O-4S)] as the additives in the electrolyte.

Importance: Biomarkers would greatly assist decision-making in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of chronic pain.

Objective: To undertake analytical validation of a sensorimotor cortical biomarker signature for pain consisting of 2 measures: sensorimotor peak alpha frequency (PAF) and corticomotor excitability (CME).

Design, Setting, And Participants: This cohort study at a single center (Neuroscience Research Australia) recruited participants from November 2020 to October 2022 through notices placed online and at universities across Australia.

-Iodosuccinimide-promoted cascade reactions of arylidene isoxazolones with amidines in -xylene were accomplished, affording 5-acylimidazoles in good to excellent yields. Interestingly, when the reactions were performed by employing acetonitrile as the solvent, 4-acylimidazoles were efficiently obtained. Mechanistic studies indicate that the formation of imidazolyl and acyl moieties may undergo a spiroannulation-ring opening aromatization-hydrolysis cascade reaction sequence.
