Arthrofibrosis, as a result of osteoarthritis, after trauma, or after knee surgery, can have significant implications for patient function, satisfaction, and outcomes. When extensive conservative management fails to achieve satisfactory results, surgical intervention may be necessary. Arthroscopic techniques to release anterior adhesions are often viewed as easier and safer than posterior releases required for flexion contractures. We present our technique of a safe, effective, and reproducible arthroscopic complete posterior capsulotomy.

Medial meniscus ramp tears are tears of the posteromedial capsule or peripheral rim of the posteromedial meniscus that frequently occur with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. The incidence and prevalence of medial meniscus ramp tears has been increasing in the recent literature due to the increased understanding of the anatomy and diagnosis of these tears. When a patient presents with an ACL tear, a medial meniscus ramp tear should be suspected if the patient has a grade 3+ Lachman or pivot shift exam, a vertical line of increased signal intensity in the posterior capsule or peripheral meniscus on magnetic resonance imagining (MRI), or posteromedial tibial plateau bone bruising on MRI.

Background: Anterior labroligamentous periosteal sleeve avulsion (ALPSA) lesions are associated with recurrent shoulder instability and higher rates of failure after capsulolabral repair compared with similarly treated Bankart lesions. Although these lesions can portend poor outcomes, there are limited data on the associated conditions and postoperative course in a young, active population.
Purpose: To evaluate the mid- to long-term clinical course and failure rates after ALPSA repairs and assess features associated with these outcomes.
